i don't wanna watch whatever this is; i just wanna point out that the title letters look like turds.  maybe that was a hint at what was to come?

How rampant the idea that you can't be racist to white people is nowadays. I constantly see racist as shit posts on Instagram and people in the comments always say even more racist things, and when someone points out the racism, they get 2 types of responses:

  1. Calm down it's a joke!!! You have no sense of humor!!!
  2. Um sweetie white people can't experience racism because (shitty argument some liberal arts teacher made up 20 years ago) so fuck off :^)))

It's honestly depressing to read, but oh no, I can't be upset because I'm white and I clearly have no problems, right?

How college has more or less not managed to cover the last 2 assignments in the time the course has left to run.

I've literally got one question left on the last assignment that I thought I couldn't finish but just found I can by using various formulae to get the needed numbers for what I'm calculating for.

Lost my fucking smart phone today. This is after $80 to replace the screen a month or two ago. And this when I'm saving up to go to Anthrocon for the first time in my entire life, because not only is my job offering me the time off for a change, but I have a possible ride and hotel space.

Absolutely hate that some retail workers, if I ask them if someone turned in a phone, act like they don't give a shit and say they haven't seen anything. Don't bother to check, even if I say I lost it Monday. I don't know if you were working on Monday, maybe you weren't. I know retail's shit, but at least pretend to care asshole.

Edit: And would the edgy black offensive humor FB group I'm a member of please STOP FUCKING POSTING PICTURES OF SHIT FETISHES. I know your edgelord dicks are so small, but please grow the fuck up, you're not 10.

So this is what happened with that. The admin, an army vet that volunteers with other vets, put his foot down and said no more shit fetish pictures. This was the clusterfuck of immaturity that happened:

- The guy who was spamming the shit porn started spamming pictures of animal poop instead, asking "does this break the rules" or "is anyone offended by this?" Good job with the immature passive agressiveness there.
- Captain neckbeard tried to take the intellectual high ground and claimed that the admin did not specifically ban fecal porn, thus was making up rules. Also called the admin a pussy and snowflake. The admin served in the army, did neckbeard do the same? If not, shut up. It's his group, he can do whatever he fucking wants with it.
- Neckbeard above and another alt-right asshole started calling anyone who complained about the fecal poop "snowflakes", "cucks", "whiners", "SJWs", ect. For a bunch of people claiming everyone else is a whiner and weakling, they did a lot of whining themselves.

It's pretty sad to see that at least some of the millennials out there pretend to be adults act act like fucking kids. Look at how bright the future looks with people like this. Did you learn how to adult from 4chan or something?

I have a black fur friend who was discussing the guy who came back from NK in a coma. His sister said "See, white people are stupid. Who the hell vacations in NK? You don't see any black people being that stupid!" And then when her brother told her to stop with the race shit, and two other people called her out on it, she proceeded to rant and rave about how she's smarter than others and everyone else is stupid, posted articles of white people being captured by NK to try to prove her point, and said "See, no black person has been captured by NK because no black person is stupid like white people going over there and getting caught."

Yea. But no, pretend that black people and any other person out there can't be racist. True, before someone brings up the whole "institutional racism" thing, people of color in this country don't have the majority in either numbers or power or rights. That doesn't mean they can't be prejudiced assholes.

Almost every video that Google has uploaded on YouTube for the past week panders to SJWs and shows a small degree of divisiveness in a passive way hidden under the message of "love everyone", the typical disingenuous regressive slogan that usually implies "love everyone except those who disagree with us on anything". At least, when Apple sends messages about marginalized groups, they are more inclusive and not so passive aggressive or dishonest about the not-so-marginalized ones. It could just be a shitty PR stunt to glamorize their image as a corporation, but it makes me never want to touch any of my android devices ever again and switch over to iPhone.

While I don't disagree, I feel like the big issue with most people who complain about "racism against white people" is that they don't seem to understand that last part. An individual from a historically disadvantaged group being stupid and awful on a personal level is different from an individual from a relatively privileged position acting the same way because there is no greater power or threat in the former, generally speaking, and no history of violence backing those words up. I can imagine it still being hurtful, because people being shitty to you for dumb reasons is inherently hurtful, but there's often this ignorance about how much more hurtful the reverse is in this context.

It gets more complicated when minorities are racist towards other minority groups, though. That's always fun. Like running a cheese grater across your skin.

In any case, people just having some basic human empathy and not being insecure and presumptuous is useful here.

I don't think that social class or skin color should factor into whether or not you're "more offensive" for being an asshole towards other people over something so stupid as their melanin.

You can be poor and an asshole. You can be rich and an asshole.
You can be mentally ill and an asshole. You can be completely fine and an asshole.
You're still an asshole, and none of those things is an excuse for it.

Yeah, there's a big difference between James Baldwin, W.E.B. Du Bois, Angela Davis, and pretty much any other Black individuals then or now calling white people self-interested monsters and Eugene Connor, Joseph McCarthy, and any other white people then or now calling Black individuals self-interested monsters.

All those whites from the innocent little old ladies at home to the infamous Connors have had a whole system of hierarchy there to back them up on their racism against Black individuals all the way from their community to the federal government. Black individuals do not and have not had that to back up any prejudices they may have.

That's kind of why most white people hated people like MLK, Paul Robeson, James Baldwin, W.E.B. Du Bois Muhammad Ali, and Angela Davis; they pointed that hierarchy out, and they wanted it gone. They never actually got their way, though.

That's why that prejudice vs racism thing is important and shouldn't just be hand-waved away. They are different things: one can be brushed off the large majority of the time, and the other one gets Medgar Evers, Emmett Till, Jimmie Jackson, MLK, and thousands of other innocent Black individuals killed and takes away the rights of millions more.

And I hate that people do not know that, refuse to acknowledge it, or attempt to refute it simply semantically.

Working on a math problem for way too long before realizing that my approach was comically overcomplicated and that it was actually really easy.

On the bright side, finishing that sumbitch after this realization is extremely satisfying.

I'll put it like this, as someone who's seen it from both sides: I've felt way more freaked out and uncomfortable from people making weird anti-Semitic or homophobic remarks than from hostile behaviour over my pasty whiteness, because generally speaking people don't beat you to death or put burning crosses on your lawn for being white.

There's prejudiced behaviour and there's prejudiced behaviour with power behind it. Being a mere asshole is impotent.

I hate how bargain cell phones nowadays are cheap as fuck in terms of their construction. Like, those phones you get for Straight Talk or Net10 or other bargain carriers.
Here's the thing. The cheapest phones for those carriers still have Android 5 or even 6. However, they tend to have very shitty specs. 4" screens. 1ghz dual-core processors. 1gb (or even 512k, eek!) RAM. 5mp cameras, new back in fucking 2005, and if you're lucky, a 2mp selfie camera (some have .3mp cameras). Worst is they usually have only 4 gigs of useable app storage space, and most apps don't run off a sim card. And yet these bargain phones still cost $50-70.

Let's look, instead, at a Samsung Galaxy SIII, introduced 2012, IE 5 years ago. Runs Android 4.3. 16mb memory, 1.5ghz quad-core processor, 5" screen, 1gb ram (there's a 2gb version too), 8mp back and 2mp front. Besides the OS a better phone, and brand new on Amazon about $60.

So why is it that a phone 5+ years old is about as expensive as a cheap ass phone made yesterday but is still somewhat better? What about that law that states that hardware will be cheaper as time goes along, kinda like a reverse moore's law? Did smartphones just not get the fucking memo?

Asking for a friend and not myself who just lost my phone/had it stolen probably so needs a new one.

Be extremely cautious about buying "new" phones from amazon, take my and a lot of other customers' advice on that one. It's more than likely going to be a factory reconditioned unit sealed in an oem box covered in plastic films, like a brand new device, on top of that, no warranty. I'm pretty confident that S III is not new.

Why is it so difficult to find a straight answer on the internet.

I just want to keep a package at the office until I pick it up.
And how to send it there without having to somehow arrange for it to be failed to delivered to my mailbox 3 damn times.

I mean I'm sure it's simple but the information is not forthcoming.

Somehow, a middle school student manages to be more mature than a college student in the Youtube comment section.

So maturity in society is at an all time high.

Can you explain more? Usually when you are mailing something to a specific person at a business you use

Attn: Your Name

Business Name

Business Address

You might also ask whoever is in charge of mail to keep an eye out.

You should be asking yourself that question, since the only options there for $60 are used. You said, verbatim, "brand new on Amazon." In fact, I posted the exact same listing as you, except filtered to "new".

You really need to work on your reading comprehension.

Bah, gave up, just shipping it to my house.
And hopefully the duty tax, whatever it decides to be, isn't a thousand dollars and 3 new born infants.

Thanks though.

I'm not talking about whether or not one kind of slur is or is not more offensive than the other.
I'm just saying that being a dick to a person over [x] factor goes both ways. If you're a dick over some inconsequential bullshit like melanin, you're a dick, and should be treated as such. It's not more acceptable or excusable for one group on one end of that street to do so.

If I start bitching about men and pointing things at the general male gender as a group, and asserting that women are better and smarter, just because women have been historically lower-classed, that still makes me an asshole and it still makes me look like an idiot.
Same thing if I wanted to bitch about cis-bodied people versus trans.
Etc.

Which isn't even taking into account that not all black people are underclassed compared to white people, but that's a whole fucking bucket of mud that I don't want to get into, because no one wins at the Oppression Olympics.

Anyway.
On-topic: I hate when randos dump their emotional problems on me and act like it's my problem. Not friends, mind you. Randos. Acquaintances.
Bitch, I got enough of my own shit to deal with. I don't want to carry your fuckin bags up the stairs, too.

I always have the most drive to pursue my hobbies late into the night. I could stay up and work since I don't really have any obligations right now, but my sleep schedule is hanging by a thread here god dammit. Waking up at 2 in the afternoon does not feel good.

I hate that, while this article is getting old now, the problem is only getting worse. I see issues related to this on the news each and every day.

Probably because Father's Day, depending on where you live, is either a Catholic tradition or a remnant of men getting angry about Mother's Day during a period of social change stacked against men in power in the '60s and '70s that is rarely celebrated outside of a Home Depot.

The other ones are pressing social issues and a mostly secular holiday over a century in age celebrating people that couldn't even vote at the time.

I never knew being oppressed was a criteria for someone to be worthy of having a day showing they're appreciated and loved.

By the by, Fathers day in its contemporary form is also over a century old <: It was suggested not by a remnant of men angry about dem' women folk getting a holiday, but from a girl who wanted to honor her dad, a veteran, that was a single father raising 6 children.

This strikes me as a weird oversight, seeing as Father's Day is only slightly less of a big deal here than Mother's Day, but maybe it's an international thing? I know that Children's Day is a big deal in a lot of countries and a non-presence in the US, while Canada has its own Thanksgiving and Oceania has ANZAC Day; it could be something like that.
