Yeah but since when was equality a thingĀ in the workplace? Social hierarchies seem to ruin everything, with is another thing I hate.

To be fair, this is more of a problem of our project team management not caring. Anybody can be nominated for these things for any reason. The picnic events coordinator made the nominations for the events winners and I'm sure HR was keen on encouraging more participation. Where as our project's supervisor never bothers with those things for anyone.

should I expect things like this when I go into the corporate world of business

Probably. Also, it worked out to about $7 in AmazonĀ giftcard money (and it takes corporate upwards of 2 months to do the redeeming) so now it's just funny to me instead of disappointing XP

I made the decision to remove one of my nipple rings. After a year and a third, it was still a weeping, gory wound that seemed to have migrated somewhat. Just caused me pain and stress. So now I have only one.

Having only one is still cool...... right?

I hate taking out piercings. Ā They're a part of me as much as anything else I was born with. They feel correct on me, and I feel incomplete when they are gone.

NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!

This is a place I'd go to every year with the grandparents when I was a kid for their Halloween and Xmas trains. I hate to see it shut down. This year is the last Halloween and Xmas train so you're damn right I'm going to set aside time in my schedule to go.

Also, I hate that first website. It has a billion flash videos running and is bogging up my browser.Ā  Here's the video on that first news report.

WhenĀ furriesĀ think it's a good idea to put their naked fursona up as their avatar on Skype.Ā

No one wants to see that shit. No one wants toĀ see your vagina or dong all over the place when you're interacting with them, at least not me. If I want to see that sort of thing I'll look for it or ask!

Worse, I've seen furry badges with their giant unrealistic dicks or boobs hanging out. Yea, that's all I need, for a furry autistic to have their fursona porn on their badge in public, so the public can see that perverted shit and think furries are worse than they really are... or maybe learn the truth of how bad furries can be?

I accidentally overloaded the shit out of this bottle of iced coffee with chocolate mix, because I forgot that my mug holds a lot more than this bottle does.
Therefore more coffee to balance out more powder mix.

So now it tastes like pure choco milkshake.
And it's pretty overbaring.

I was never fond of chocolate milkshakes just because of how goddamned rich they are.

I'm trying to do some reading on how metal music is actually composed and how different instruments are used together, but it's hard to google for things like "making metal" or "being a metal artist" or "metal composition" without getting results comprised almost exclusively of everything but music things.

fuggin annoying

Urg, that happens SO much with 3D stuff! Especially when they name their tech with common things. No, I don't want to see results for Maya Angelo's hairdo! X(

Try searching for history on specific bands, those will generally focus on how they developed their sound and that will teach you how various kinds of metal is made. Also try using quotes and search for these things with "Heavy Metal" or other terms for specific genres of metal. https://duckduckgo.com/?q="Heavy+Metal"+music+composition&t=h_&ia=web

I think that's a good idea, thanks!

Also this is more of a general offtopic question to other people who might be reading, but I have terrible hearing and I have so much trouble hearing bass guitar, and even differentiating it from drums. I can hear it on its own no problem, but its so hard to listen for it in a final song/performance. But I also read that bass-playing is a thing that you only notice once it's absent (I listen to guitar covers on youtube and notice how "thin" riffs tend to sound on their own, or at least without all the production wizardry).

Am I alone in this? Is it something that people need to be trained to do?

"Metal music composition"?

Similarly, I fucking hate looking up pose refs because of that.

That I can't find a basic white suit online that isn't a price that rapes my wallet, or at least a jacket because I think I can figure out the pants. I have two weeks until con, and have visited over a dozen thrift shops but nothing.

And not one of those halloween costume suits, I saw one that was only one layer, thin enough you could fucking see through it, and that shitty shiny wrinkly stretchy polyester shit that has velcro instead of buttons and is one-size-fits-those-who-are't-fat-ass-Americans.

The best thing to do with these types is to ignore them, but if you want to engage them, I find that counter-quoting the Bible is usually the best way, especially on the internet (very easy to bring up a few passages about love and such).

It's fun to watch them flail as you systematically prove that the book they base their life on doesn't support their views at all...

There's this local Kiwanis thrift shop... that's only open from 9am-noon... on Saturdays. I work late, so I never get a chance to go down there unless I want little sleep.

Like, I don't even get WHY they're only open for that limited window, and they've been doing this since time immortal, ignoring the fact they have two huge locations for this sale. And since the thing is run by a bunch of pretty stereotypical old people, this one guy who's the announcer talks retardedly slow "We... have.... a....great....sale.... on... cook...ware....down....in...the...house.....wares...department.... ....why....don't.....you.. ..go...down.....and...check...it...out.. ...get....yourself....a....great....deal......" I mean, dealing with them you start to form the opinion that old people are slow, not very bright, and just don't get it. But what do they have to do all day if their thrift shop is open for only 3 hours? Bingo? Crafts day at the nursing home?

In any case, Men's clubs like the Kiwanis, the Lions, Rotary, ect are going the way of the dinosaurs, so good riddance. I'll stick with SalArmy and Goodwill that are open multiple days.

How upon getting the new Ā moderatelyĀ hard assignment many of the people in the class were able to breeze through all the questions onĀ angular motion in the time it took me to finish checking and calculting the answer to just one question.

I was low on caffeine though.Ā

In addition to doing that, I find this particular quote to be fun to make them huff and sputter

ā€œThe devil can cite Scripture for his purpose.
An evil soul producing holy witness
Is like a villain with a smiling cheek,
A goodly apple rotten at the heart.
O, what a goodly outside falsehood hath!ā€

Its not the bible, but most most of these people have barely read the bible anyway. So counter quoting with Shakespeare ends up being quite fun.

To be fair there's a quote somewhere in the bible about one of the agents of the anti-christ being able to recite scripture better than most priests, or something. I'm too tired to look it up right now though :V

Eh, to be honest theyre just going to ask where in the bible that is, and you cant condemn them for not knowing the bible verbatim thats why they always have the book, chapter, and verse after each bible quote because you can always look up the information...so if its not in there then some pseudo-biblical verse wont do squat if they ask where it came from

The point isn't to shame them for not having the bible memorized. The point of the message is to make them take a hard look at themselves and realize its hard to take a "Godly" stance when you're being a hateful jerk-ass to other people. I usually follow it up with one of my favorite bible passages:

"Do not judge, or you will be judged. For with the same judgment you pronounce, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.Why do you look at the speck in your brotherā€™s eye, but fail to notice the beam in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, ā€˜Let me take the speck out of your eye,ā€™ while there is still a beam in your own eye?"

Also on the topic of that, I dont get what is "mens" and "womens" garments? At what point did that be a thing did Adam have man leaves and Eve woman leaves? As far as clothing goes its totally a human construct

Aside from cut differences, and the obvious difference between having boobs to shove in a bra and not, it also makes it much easier for companies to market in specific, concentrated ways by implying a group (but a smaller group than "everyone") "needs" a thing they're selling.

It also lets them set price distinctions without having a mass of people look at the comparable prices for BOTH sets of items and say "fuck that shit" because of how expensive one thing is.
Lemon mentioned a few times about the Pink Tax. The Pink Tax exists solely because marketing has convinced women that they need to be softer and prettier, and thus are free to charge more for things that are functionally the same.

It's primarily just a marketing decision.
And a huge goddamn popular one.

Clothes built to fit anatomical difference make more sense, but Im mostly asking the difference aside from modern marketing, Im trying to figure out the biblical meaning of that back whenĀ people donned colored rags of some style andĀ called it clothes at what point did someone differentiate a womanĀ rag from man rag and say only this can wear this or that? Ā  Clothing changes over time and culture too much

Ā

....unless it has to do with the type of hair or clothing one has differentiates between the two sexes so therefore according to thatĀ we must stick to cultural guidelines in order to tell the differences amongst each other for mating purposes, and defying those makes a mess of the perfectly hetero society? I guess?

I feel like today was "shit on Hux day".Ā

Everyone I talked to today just browbeat and shat on me over minor screw ups. What's even worse is that this the only place I can go to vent because all my friends are out of state and I'm unemployed. Being surrounded by a bunch a people that I hate doesn't help either.

I need a job to get a life. Meanwhile I keep anxiously waiting for the phone to ring, for a new employer to call me in to work. The phone never fucking rings. I can just feel my life wasting away like sand spilling down an hourglass.

Fuck.

I mean I wouldn't know anything factually and historically, because I've never cared enough to research into something like that.
But I would assume function for what one is expected to do for their primary job / obligation / living situation.

Warped over time because trends.

Things that I hate: Expression sheets that list "happy / sad / angry" as generic filler.
There is a world of difference between... say... being happy that you won the lottery, versus being happy because you're simply contented, versus being happy because you're accomplished, and so on.
Emotions and expressions are situational.
So this bothers the piss out of me, because I'm always like "Happy because of what? There's like 50 different ways I could draw this!"

That the Bible doesn't have any really funny parts. I'dĀ like it more if it included a bit of humor.

Also, Moses seemed way, way too bossy and uptight, and I'd like to see the movie remade as a musical, with somebody in drag, as Moses, kinda Rocky Horror style. I want a religion that makes me laugh more!

Another part of the reason is that 'men's clothing' was standardized round 'bout 1912-1945 on account of the need for a strict, factory-manufacturable set of sizes because they needed to cloth millions of millions of soldiers on every side, whereas most women's clothing (especially undergarments) holds a different standard in every country, and even that's divided up by different sizing standards per manufacturing company. Its fucking ridiculous trying to find stuff that fits most of the time ._.

Ā

Edit: As to cultural thing before that, not really sure, it changes due to culture and perception, I mean, according to some standards wearing a pair of pants and a t-shirt is indecent to the extreme, regardless of who is wearing it. Generally, before the advent of industrialization, though, the difference was generally one of 'can this be used for day-labor outside' vs 'is this appropriate for day-labor inside' for working class, and 'does this remind people of warriors' and 'does my trophy wearing this maximize my prestige without looking too indecent' for the upper class. I think. Its been a long time since I've done any real research into minutiae like that.

Edit2: Basically what Vae said in reply to you, if you need a tl;dr version :V
