The only thing I want to know is why is it that the team of overwatch is fighting the team of overwatch?

From the trailers and stuff it most all the characters seem to be on overwatch and yet they are fighting against each other on teams.

Eh. You can end up in some pretty stupid situations in most strictly PVP games that for some reason have narrative. Fighters and MOBAs are the champions of this.

Eh most fighting games at least have some reason for them fighting.

The odd thing about overwatch is that it seems like they're all on the same team working together.... against themselves. it's not like in street fighter everyone is working together.

of course these are just silly things noticed by someone who really doesn't care about the actual game and doesn't actually know anything about it really.

well king of fighters/ street fighter have some kind of tournament thing going, soul calibur has a search for super awesome weapon, tekken has a tournament?, mortal kombat has a tournament of some kind, blazblue/guilty gear have visual novels.

basically most have some sort of weird ass tournament thing that at least be reason for them to fight, or at least don't give narratives that they are all a team working together. where as in overwatch to my knowledge they're all on the same team.

Ah. Well the main plots are fine (though wasn't the tournament thing over after SFII?), but I'm talking about between character to character. I assumed you were too. There's very little reason for them to fight one another for most characters in fighters I've played. For example, you can play as Cassie Cage and kill her mother and father in MKX. And in the case of MK, Earthrealm champs can fight other Earthrealm champs. Can play as Vega and fight Bison, his boss. Cassandra can fight Sophitia. Can make for funny situations. :y 

Also not everyone in Overwatch is on the same team. Overwatch is actually a defunct taboo organization if I have that right. Only a certain few are part of it like Winston and Tracer. You've got people like Reaper who just want to watch the world burn. Symmetra is part of a completely different organization. Widowmaker hates everyone, Roadhog and Junkrat are just from a wasteland. Lucio affiliates with no one and a few others. etc

But stuff like this usually isn't consistent in PVP games. Especially when you consider mirror's or teams with with 5 of the same character (which I cannot fucking STAND about this game and I took the same issue with Dirty Bomb).

Like, he most choose to wear that. He was a blackwatch agent, so he must be good at costuming and blending in, there's no way he did his job in a cowboy getup :v

Got my hands on this but haven't been playing it too much cause playing with randoms sucks, and Doom has still been eating my time. Still, very fun game! Junkrat for life.

got the game last night , playing my first round as reaper. Bastion gets play of the game.

next round ,playing as junkrat, play of the game goes to bastion again.

next round , playing as mercy , bastion again! Every damn time it seems to be bastion for sitting in a spot for about 3 minutes, is this just me?

 

but yeah I think the game's great , should tide me over until the next big game I want.

Don't worry, sometimes it's Torbjörn. It's even less entertaining to watch, too, because it's not even him getting kills, it's his turret!

for right now I'm playing it on PS4 because the PC I'd probably end up playing on is broken (probably needs a new graphics card) and my shitty laptop probably won't play it as well. I guess if you wanna add me though it's kingsheeb#1118 for Battlenet and tanukihero for PSN. ngl though, I'm hella awkward playing games online with friends

anyway, I like playing as Junkrat and Roadhog and I think their designs are really cool

Bastion is pretty easy to kill if he's not being watched or is just sitting there like an idiot. Snipe him or get the drop on him with Reaper. Your best bet isn't always kill him but force him out of his setup. Get Mei to block him off for a few seconds and get around him.

Speaking of which, Mei is preeeetty stupid on a good chunk of maps.

If you play Bastion, I would suggest that when you expend your turret ammo, get up and move somewhere else rather than reload. Try to pocket a Reinhardt or Mercy. Keeps me alive longer.

Yeah, Bastion is usually annoying more due to the map than to Bastion himself. If he doesn't have an awful gamestopping chokepoint to troll then quite a few characters can deal with him either through indirect fire or incapacitating him. The only thing I think is off about him is his ult, which basically negates all of his usual weaknesses. Even Torbjorn's ult is less annoying since at least his turret remains stationary.

A JunkRat aware of his position can snuff him out with some well arched explosives depending on where he is. People call for nerfs but I feel there's plenty of ways to stop all of the characters. I'm waiting for the day I come across a team of 6 Bastions with the SUPREME positioning.

EDIT: Obviously carried a game.

29-2 with Reaper and 44% of the team kills. Killed tanks when people asked. Killed snipers when people asked. Killed TRACER when people asked. No ulti Quadra kill. Ulti penta. And Play of the Game. 

Not one commend from my team.

I ended up maining a Symmetra and playing the fun game of "which room did symmetra put 6 sentries in that will quickly kill ANY character" or as my friends also say "Do you wish to experience the SAW movies?"

Spoiler, its often the room with the big health pack.

But I do enjoy Symmetra/ Mercy combo

I mean yea his ass is nice and juicy as it give him more damage when in sentry mode, but is using bastion's sentry mode ass as bait for my 3 sentry guns that happen to be placed right around a corner protecting it...make me an evil person?

Id have to say my favourite hero is reaper , hes so edgy but I think its fun teleporting around and sneaking up on people before two shotting them and getting murdered by the rest of the team  sneaking away. Oh and it's fun to basically fly around as Junkrat.

I like Reaper including his edginess. It's not painful like Sasuke or HatredGuy. And he can break character a little bit. Even his basic greeting is sort of a goofy thing to see him do.

I like how folks are coming to understand that many ults are not instant kill, its damage at a high rate.

I even when i'm stuck by a tracer ult I would immediately run away from my teammates so they just get damaged but not killed

I usually just pick Reaper or Mei when playing with pubs. Mei doesn't need too much in the way of communication if you aren't dumb. And Reaper's sort of meant to split up and get the drop on people, the edgelord.

My friend and I are starting to think Dva is the weakest character in the game, or at least the weakest tank. The only good thing I can find about her is that she can shoot infinitely. But for what? Her rate of fire is slow. She loses mobility during sustained fire. She doesn't do crazy damage. Her ult is, compared to most other characters, disproportionately situational; it takes forever to blow up so everyone just easily hides. She kind of has a shield? Her bullet absorbing CAN help people, but it really only benefits her as if she's critical to team comp. Even Genji at the very least reflects bullets which will MURDER a Bastion. Reinhardt's shield covers a much larger area for far greater lengths of time. Zarya's can be projected on other players and buff her attack. And Winston's is stationary, but again covers more players. Dva's...absorbs bullets...coming directly at her....and does nothing with them. Cool? :l

She has mobility, but again...for what? What's she going to do when she gets somewhere? She really isn't hard at all to deal with and is the easiest character in the game to land headshots on. She's Widowmaker's lunch and Reaper will take the leftovers if someone isn't sniping. I mean I GUESS she's useful behind Reinhardt? But you could just as easily go Bastion.

I dunno. Maybe I'm missing something. Someone feel free to rebuttal. I just never had a good one on my teams or really went "oh shit, Dva".

thats cause D.Va is not quite a tank like the others just like how Symmetra is not quite a support for the support group.
Shes an ambush/hunter tank in a sense as she suppose to get up close to do her heavy damage as she has damage fall off with her "shotgun" cannons.
its also why she has a "personal" shield as it can be used to soak up directed damage to her or used to help her escape after killing her target.
Her special is situational as you often see D.va players boost then eject to have the MEK continue at its destination as its harder to run away of a moving self destructing MEK than a stationary one. The only other time you see the stationary ones work is cause the D.Va set it up that when her mech is near dead she would activate her ult so folks would have less time to also escape cause they may have been close to her suit and saw her leaving her suit as normal (its a rare glitch where she wont say "nerf this" if she activate her ult when her suit is just about destroyed)

My favorite thing to do is to actually DROP the suit on the target group so I will do her ult in the air over the enemy team and thus they cant tell which direction the suit is coming from as the common thing for the suit is to be seen heading for them to explode on the ground.

I dunno...I been meeting a whole lot of reapers who suck at their actual job, but then again I play symmetra so having 3 lasers tend to kill a reaper REALLY fast

I don't really like Jim Sterling for a variety of reasons, but that WAS a pretty good video.

Although I think it was focused a bit TOO much on what makes Overwatch's characters great and not enough on the reasons for Blizzard's porn takedowns. He went into a lot of detail for the first half of the video and then it was just mostly "Porn isn't going to go away. I don't know why exactly Blizzard is doing this, but its nothing to worry about".
