Why do people not ask for raises, not ask to be compensated, and I guess in general don't value themselves and don't understand their self worth?

Why do software developers look for and apply for jobs at companies in their physical area? This is a fairly common theme, where someone complains about lack of programming jobs where they live. It's a big world, and you don't need an office to code.

To be honest I don't have any idea how to locate a company that's willing to allow me to telecommute. Otherwise I'd leave the one I'm at now.

So, work for free. Are you good? Can you work with others? Instead of applying for jobs, why not make something yourself? Make friends with others who might have similar ideas, or skills you would need to manage it, advertise it, and bring it to the market. And if you have experience with incompetent indie devs and their incompetence, all the better. You know what not to do, what kind of people to avoid, and maybe even what should be done better than those incompetent devs. Try to do what they could not. What's the worst that could happen?

Or even expand and try other things besides just game dev as a job. There are probably lots of things that would greatly benefit from hypervigilance. Being Sherlock Holmes for instance :D

EDIT: Oh, didn't realize you blocked me, since that was edited later after I started writing my reply. Whelp, sorry I wasted my time I guess.

pssst
What do you think I'm doing right now?
Still not working for free though. Not for the people I was before, anyhow. I've proven my ability to them inarguably over the last couple of years. If they don't want to pay me for my time, then they can just go without. Good luck with your next game release when you don't have me to break your game six ways from sunday so that you can figure out how to fix it...

Alright that's my last response

OT: I don't understand how everything tastes like chicken
I know it's pretty much a meme, but, no. It really isn't true.
Maybe I should google the origin of it...

In my experience, trying to do freelancing online is pretty hard if you either don't have an impressive portfolio, a large firm, or if you don't work cheaper than the shit ton of Indians who will also apply for the jobs.

There are online job boards specifically for software developers. You can also search for apps that do what your are looking to code, find companies that are working on those types of apps, and just send them a request directly, though it's better to do with small companies, and there's a low chance they're hiring. This wouldn't be freelancing but a full time job. Also, it would help a lot with hiring if you wrote some code they can use already, so if they have github, that's a big plus too. Means they don't have to train you, and you understand what they're doing already. And yes, it won't pay six figures. You are competing with the whole world after all (not just India, but Russia too), but at least you know English really well.

I would have mentioned that I'm friends with the creator of IGE.com, and have contacts with American McGhee and Bethesdaworks, but never mind.

when jobs ask you how much money you want/expect I wage

uhhh....what the job entails in typical wage. I guess that's one of those you-should-know-your-facts-about-this-job-google-it questions

I mean if I had my way I'd ask for $20 an hour, clearly.

And while on subject of jobs. Job apps in general are infuriating. Especially for big companies that make you go through big questionairres about ethics and personality.

Do I tell them the truth or what they want to hear so I get hired?

I'm an asocial, anxious piece of crap but I'm sure no job wants to hear that and I'm supposed to grin and be the team player they want.

"Are you an honest person?

Yes

"If you found $100 on the ground would you return it to the bank trunk it had fallen from?"

uhhhh...well gee...isnt it ironic I just said I was honest and would maybe say no but I know the answer they want to hear is "yes" but if I say that that would invalidate my previous assertion that I was honest?

People who upload photos of themselves on their FA pages. Why the hell would you want your face directly linked to something like that?

Imagine if you found your mum using a photo of herself on Fur affinity, with a gallery full of the most debauched furry yiffings.

What if it's hot and you're both into incest?

On this subject, I don't understand it when I come across somebody's fur affinity page and it says 'Christian furry' or 'Muslim furry' and then their gallery is stuffed full of rampant gay anal sex.

It just strikes me as a weird juxtaposition of claims to belong to religions which explicitly forbid wanton sexual desire....and loads of wanton sexual desire all over the place...especially weird given the biggest sect of Islam bans drawings of animals and people anyway.

They're most likely "secular theists", as in they believe in the gods and possibly other fundamental aspects of their respective religions but don't strictly adhere to it word-for-word (typically under the assumption that there's is a loving god who doesn't care about that stuff and accepts everybody regardless of ethnicity, gender, sexuality or religious faith or lack thereof) and are more prone to using it as a general guideline that boils down to "be a decent person".

Y'know that kinda thing.

I don't understand why I keep forgetting that anything avocado based hurts my stomach and gives me cramps... That super nacho is really kicking my ass right now.

Maybe a specifically engineered enzyme pill would do the trick :V

Its a very viable explanation since in that scenario morality could only meet the bounds of harming others rather than following doctrine to a T.

only God can judge them but it doesn't stop me from criticizing their actions :V

It's just a habit for trying to preserve them, I'll stick them in a breadbox next time.

I'll never understand people who pull out right in front of oncoming traffic without even hesitating, I swear I'll reinforce my truck to look like something out of Mad Max if I keep having to encounter these people.

I don't understand unrealistic porn/yiffing art. Like, no, that would NOT be pleasurable and that position ISN'T possible. I just saw this picture of an anthro with ropes tied around her body and boobs and the rope was also holding a dildo inside her? No, just no. The rope might feel good, but it wouldn't be able to hold the dildo in that way, and even if it could it wouldn't feel good cause literally nothing is happening other than the thing hanging there. Ugh. If you're going to draw porn at least make it feasible.

But, on the subject, a lot of furries have very unrealistic fetishes, like macro/micro, hyper, transformation, hypnotism, and so forth, so a good portion of furry porn is going to be physically unrealistic.

You make a good point, I just don't see the point of something that isn't feasibly possible since it makes it impossible to imagine it actually happening. But maybe I'm just an old-fashioned lesbian prude :v
