Suggestion: there should be a politics subforum

Like I said earlier. It's nice in theory, but they're going to find a way to wedge in political bullshit in other posts that have a mere mention of it. That is actually more of a problem than someone posting their daily Nazi hate thread.Least when I see that thread posted, easily avoidable, but you talk about a video game and someone turns it into some political BS....well...

If we have a designated section, I don't think it's too much to expect them to keep it isolated to that section, or to have those posts hidden.
This is a containment issue, after all, regarding something that is disruptive and has been disruptive time and time again to the forums.

It wouldn't be a courtesy.
It would be a "this is the only place you can do this" kind of thing.
Ideally, from my point of view, anyway.

It's either that, or banning specific people from discussing politics at all because they can't do it in a manner that isn't disruptive to the forum, as has already been proven.

Personally, I don't think it's a lot of work to just set up a subforum and slap a list of rules on it and tell people to take all that shit there, but that's me.
I don't think that a subsection needs a ton of activity to warrant its existence, because unless Care corrects me, I don't think he's paying more for the site per section.

Little casual chat threads and casual topics are not the place for these extensive political discussions, but people have and will dump 5-page textwalls into those threads. Why? I don't know.
But making a subforum just filters it into a place that isn't... the entire rest of the site. The subforum can also contain stricter rules than the more casual sections of the forum, while requiring those threads to take place there. Which is what I'm in favor of. Stricter regulations and containment. Because how things have already been going really isn't working.

Old memes aside,
all of us moderate every section of the site,
so I mean...
