This is a containment issue, after all, regarding something that is disruptive and has been disruptive time and time again to the forums. It wouldn't be a courtesy. Personally, I don't think it's a lot of work to just set up a subforum and slap a list of rules on it and tell people to take all that shit there, but that's me. I don't think that a subsection needs a ton of activity to warrant its existence, because unless Care corrects me, I don't think he's paying more for the site per section. Little casual chat threads and casual topics are not the place for these extensive political discussions, but people have and will dump 5-page textwalls into those threads. Why? I don't know. But making a subforum just filters it into a place that isn't... the entire rest of the site. The subforum can also contain stricter rules than the more casual sections of the forum, while requiring those threads to take place there. Which is what I'm in favor of.
