I've never played a game quite like it before-- the co-op can make your first runs more manageable, if your friend is patient enough to talk strategy with you or keep playing after a couple losses. It's a deceptively difficult game in that if you overstep your limitations by one extra room it can cause a whole party wipe. It's all about risk taking and risk mitigation. You can generally prevent something stupid from happening if you plan for it, but like any roguelike (it is many genres, that included), getting lucky helps too.
