So by now it's common knowledge that Windows 10, in regards to playing nice with programs you already had installed, can be completely terrible. So let's get straight to the story's short and bitter version. Clove: [Boss], I need to make you aware of Win10 attempting to install itself on the computer that runs our PoS system. I stopped it this morning. I'll inform staff to keep an eye out for it. I could also take precautions to make certain it doesn't sneak by. [Boss]: Why wouldn't we upgrade it, I did it on my office computer. It only took 5 minutes. Clove blank stares for a moment, knowing that [Boss]'s computer is in fact currently running Win. XP Clove: I don't think that's a good idea. Windows 10 is known to have compatibility issues with programs, I'm concerned that the PoS system won't function properly. [Boss]: Well just hold off for now and let me call my brother about it. [Boss]: Okay so go ahead and update the system on Monday. Monday comes Clove: After having had to wait on boss to return from going out to lunch for an hour and a half and not bothering to answer phone. So what I warned about has happened, the PoS system is unable to process any transactions and is giving these errors here. I've pulled up System Restore and we can just revert it to Win 7 with your go ahead. [Boss]: Let me call a Tech Support service (This service costs $100/hr apparently, by the way) Later [Boss]: I'm leaving for the day (After """working""" for like 45m-1hr as usual) I told them to ask for you if they call back for more information since you know more about computers than I do and would know what to do. tl;dr Fuck Win 10 and people who don't listen but then pretend they do.
