[NEW] Laptop Recommendations

So I had made a recommendation thread about a year ago. It kinda got crowded by arguments on specs and I doubt some of the laptops listed still have their sales or are in stock right now.

I'm not really tech savvy which is why I'm making this thread, just would like some help or a head start. Price is my last concern atm. Here's what I'd like the laptop to do/what I'd use it for:

-Writing

-Light video editing: Cyberlink PowerDirector 13 to be exact since I had it on my previous laptop but it would chug a lot. So a laptop that can run it smoother would be nice

-Playing Sims 2 and Fallout 3 with mods and maybe some indie games. Nothing too intense
