Howlo furriends! I come befurr you today to discuss a serious purroblem facing our fine furrum. This is purrhaps the greatest threat our community has ever faced, an unspoken menace, a great shadow looming over us, an ominous and dark purresence, maybe even more dangerous than Gun Grabbing Liberal Cucks, and People Shitting in Your Toilet That Aren't You. I speak of course, of the scourge that is Cropped Porn Avatars. "But Zara, what's the harm! Cropped Porn Avatars have been here furrever! They're a furry tradition!" Yes, a tradition that has lived out it's usefulness, much like slavery, the draft, and traditional murriage. These are all things which once served a purpose, but are needed no longer in our new posting paradigm. We have an entire subfurrum for being a disgusting degenerate now! Wieners and beef curtains flap freely, no longer burdened by the oppression of those who would deny our cultural roots as a fringe infurnet community for sexual deviants. Having a Cropped Porn Avatar on Phoenixed in The Year Of Our Lord Trump 2016 is like jerking off in the playground when there's a perfectly good glory hole in the gas station bathroom across the street. What kind of furson does this I ask you??? I, purrsonally, am done indulging the crass exhibitionism of the uncouth scoundrels that would consider it acceptable to engage in such behavior. It is time to take a stand. We need to come together as the mature and reasonable posting community I know we are and agree that I'm right.

Not sure why I didn't start one of these earlier, since the other forums i was in had them. Ah well, let's hope for the best that I don't forget about it for weeks or months at a time! I work 100% in traditional, and you can expect fantasy/sci-fi things, fanart, a lot of worldbuilding and character/creature concepting, and some miscellany between. I'll start off with a couple of personal things I've been working on: Lines for an illustration featuring my GW2 reaper Phlebotomist Zepp. Will be colored in Copics and as is probably obvious, is heavily inspired by Art Deco designs and composition. And a visual rework/update of an old half-dragon troll monster character I've had for years. I do so love pen sketching, taking away some of that control that pencil has makes me less hesitant and content to just do as I will and focus on shapes and movement.

So how about that Warcraft trailer, huh? Looked pretty damned lame to me but maybe it's because I was never into Warcraft. No, I'm not complaining about CGI, it just looked like childish crap. Also, I like to read comment sections... which I shouldn't, they're often a nightmare. And in the comment sections on sites that posted the new trailer I see a lot of obsessing over that magical word I keep hearing everywhere in geekdom, LORE. It happened here, it happens in Dragon Age, it happens in Star Wars, etc. etc. I've never understood this lore mentality, this obsession over continuity and shit. Well, maybe I'm somewhat guilty of this in some franchises like Metal Gear but I still try to enjoy each installment as an individual entity. But for these lore-purists, everything must fit together despite being convoluted and despite a lot of details being boring as shit or drawn out. I've been researching a bit into Warhammer 40000 lately and the amount of lore there is fucking terrifying, how to people have the patience to keep up with this shit? I also remember reading a hilarious comment section argument about the latest Dragon Age: Origins and it's use of LGBTQ characters. The argument was over how preachy or in-your-face the game was about how LGBTQ is good and homophobia is wrong. Several dudes argued that the gayness wasn't in your face, but the guy on the other side had an, erm, intriguing argument: The in-your-face gayness isn't in the actual games, but in a bunch of the series lore that the poster himself OPENLY ADMITTED NO ONE BUT HIM WOULD ACTUALLY CARE ABOUT, and if no one cares but him it's not that in-your-face, no? So yeah, lore is weird. But sometimes I fear I'll fall into the same trap in the novel series I write, all in the same universe. But I'm trying to make them reasonably independent from each other. ...I'm bored today so that's why this thread blows. Bleh.
