Victor-933
Videos that stir deeper emotions than simply laughing at people who are playing stupid games and winning stupid prizes. Maybe they're eye-opening, or horrifying. Maybe they rekindle a belief in the goodness of humanity, or further distance you from such foolish optimism. Maybe they bring you to tears, or make you jump for joy.

Not necessarily sad, but I wanted something other than the typical "hey look at this really fucking weird/stupid/funny video I found" thread.

That advert used to make me feel sad whenever I watched it, but I then realise it's part of that annual pseudo-competition between Tesco, Morrisons, Aldi etc. for the most meaningful Christmas advert, and then I don't really feel like that anymore because something irks me about commercialising something like that.
Osrik
Yeah... the fact that it is a commercial ruins it for me, as they are simply attempting to exploit your emotional response to get you to buy their product or develop a better image of their company. Thai life insurance ads are notorious for this:

Luccus
Stumbled over this one once again and had to think about this thread: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_QQQAVNKIPE Have fun shedding tears like 4 seconds in.Btw. if you have a dog you might not want to watch this (dog is alive and happy - everything is fine - but it's a serious roller coaster). I absolutly admire the guy helping like that.

Bonus points if you give them the plague, while ensuring your troops are immune or have treatment available. I'm a horrible person You are thinking like the officers, the soldiers really had no reason to hate each other, as most of the soldiers had more reason to hate their officers than the enemy, while they also lacked any real personal investment n the outcome of the war. They really only had the vaguest notions of nationalism, propaganda, and sense of duty to drive them to fight. In fact, many of the lower and higher officers on both sides were quite strongly against the truce, as some feared with some good reason (given low morale and the callousness of the officers to the lives of their men) that once the soldiers saw that the enemy were not the demons they were made out to be by propaganda, and rather their opposites in exactly the same plight, the soldiers might decide that the officers were their real mutual enemy and join together to eliminate them. MalletFace
I guess I might as well contribute. Much of that war was a conflict between the higher-ups and the lower-downs in the military. Looking back on the mutinies, revolutions, and activism that happened during that war is informative. Them going after their leaders is pretty much what ended the war on both major fronts. 11 hours ago, Sylver said: Is it bad that I immediately thought of ways to kill the other soldiers by taking advantage of kindness and generosity? That's how you get revolutions and coups (Russia, Germany, Rome, Byzantium, China, Japan, Spain, France, Persia, and on and on.
