DrGravitas
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1544199144/vulpine-be-a-fox-with-a-sword Yeah, you heard me. A game where you play as a fox (or other animal) wielding swords and other weapons. No idea, but it's 1/3 of the way to its fairly low Kickstarter goal. Thoughts? DrDingo
You can be a fox and build a fucking house But only if the foundations sit on your urine How do you do that This is dumb
DrGravitas
Yeah, it's really bizarre. Kind of reads like an elaborate amateur art project.
Chrysocyon
Looks like some quirky, gimmicky, overly-ambitious indie game that will probably not have much to offer when it releases. And the graphics remind me of Runescape 2.
Snagged
It is strange to see graphic designers adapt such a blocky style. Looks kinda amateur'ish to be honest. Hopefully the gameplay makes up for it, though based on trailer, I don't have high epxectations Also, laughed at "armed to the teeth" and seeing a literal fox swing a sword with his mouth
Osrik
I don't really get the appeal of "animals swinging weapons with their mouths", it looks like a gimmick to try to make their game unique more than anything else, and just comes off as goofy to me. I also don't think the art style fits the subject matter well. That kind of blocky style can work well for games were most things are already blocky and mechanical (like Planetary Annihilation, for example), but with animals and nature it just looks ill-fitting and kind of lazy, where a more realistic or organic artistic style would have been more fitting.
TrishaCat
>voxels WHY A fox with a sword might be cool if it were like playing Lion Sora in KH2. He was strangely mobile and could still kick butt with the keyblade in his mouth. In this the combat looks a bit stiff and I don't like the voxel art. 30 minutes ago, Osrik said: I don't really get the appeal of "animals swinging weapons with their mouths", it looks like a gimmick to try to make their game unique more than anything else, and just comes off as goofy to me. It can make for some interesting looking combat I think
Chrysocyon
The Shelter games had a simple, blocky art style, but they actually put some effort into making it look good.
