I Have New Books! Foxes Are Involved!

It's a modern translation of a 17th Century collection of Chinese short stories called "Strange Tales from Liaozhai". I think I'm going to enjoy it, Given what I've read in the preface, which summarizes some of the stories in discussing the author and his time period. Check out this excerpt summary: "... as [the short-story] 'The Fox Duo' (hu lian) demonstrates when a pair of female foxes attempt to seduce a scholar by tricking him into competing in a poetry contest that will end up with th

Gestures

Here's some to get started. Some basic gesture sketches, and also an attempt at a chibi-style maned wolf.  I don't think I'll be trying that style again. More style practise with maned wolves and a few more gesture sketches and muscle study. Dogz. c:

My Fursuit Is Killing People – Guest post by Akhetnu.

Guest post by Akhetnu/Angriff.  Enjoy his previous post, Cultural Appropriation In Fandom, which brought spirited comments. This fursuit set a record high $11,575 auction price. Imagine you are walking by yourself and see someone drowning.  You could easily save the person, but your shoes will be ruined and you would have to buy another pair.  Would you rescue the drowning individual anyway despite the monetary cost of new shoes?  Most furries, I’d wager, would reply in the affirmative.  So

Philadelphia, PA, Hammer & Birch, October 2015, paperback $12.95 ([1] + 197 [+1] pages), Kindle $4.99. This is a stereotypical murder mystery except for the funny animal cast. Fox Rambles 7: A Very Long and Rambly Zelda Thing!

Good day, all you wonderful people! Today, there's absolutely nothing to talk about in regards to the FFVII Remake, or FFXV.  I've already said my two cents on them.  If I were to talk about them right now, I'd just be all: "YAAAAAAAAAAASSSSS!" and start foaming at the mouth.  So, instead of Final Fantasy, I want to talk about a franchise that I've played for quite some time: The Legend of Zelda.  I've only played a few games from this series: Four Sword Adventures, Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mas

Shadow Walkers is one of those unillustrated novels that make it very difficult for the reader to decide whether the talking animals are supposed to be natural, unclothed quadrupedal animals or bipedal, clothes-wearing funny animals. Set on Cape Cod during winter, and featuring two rat children, Sara and her brother Peter

Music Haul 2/20/16

Heyo. I like music. Collecting it, listening to it, rolling in it. Now I wanna talk about it. I think I might start posting about my music collecting here. Or maybe I won’t. We shall see. Anyway, feel free to drop by; maybe we can have some nice discussions.    As an introduction, you can browse thru my current library here if you like*. My tastes vary fairly widely, but I mainly listen to rock and it’s varieties from the ’60’s to the ’90s. I abhor rap, hip-hop, post-circa2005 country,

Fox Rambles 5: Street Failure V, Nerd Rage, and Final Fantasy XV Hype!

Well hello there, everyone!  I hope you've mastered your Hadoukens and Shoryukens because this entry is about to go into all out Akuma mode.  So, Street Fighter V was just released to the masses.  I, along with everyone else, was so fucking hyped for this game.  Thanks to Happy Console Gamer and AlphaOmegaSin, I now know that the hype wasn't even worth it.  Apparently, Capcom (Or Crapcom, as I like to call them) has released an incomplete product. As of right now, Street Fighter V has a painfull

VICE looks back on the Midwest Furfest attack, earning kudos for thoughtful journalism.

You can’t get inside (The Hooded Utilitarian, 1/5/15) is one of the few best “mainstream” articles about furries.  Michael Arthur wrote it with the perspective of an insider looking at outsiders who want an inside look: “Furries are a little ridiculous.  We have an understanding about that.  But every blip of attention, even an attack on our second-most populated convention, investigated by authorities as an intentional act, is an occasion for poking fun.  Midwest Furfest is in Rosemont, Illino

It was covered with exclusive news here.  It led CollegeHumor to lobby their watchers to vote for recognition from the Furry community. Hasbro wouldn’t have

Furries are renting theaters for Zootopia meets, and they’re getting bigger than cons.

Nordic Fuzzcon has a Zootopia screening at a theater for 250. That’s the size of it’s 2014 attendance. (Art: Silverfox) The most anticipated “furry” movie in memory is coming. It’s the #1 reason to call 2016 The Year of Furry.  Zootopia is Star Wars for anthro animals. This is different from other such events. It’s a fandom pulling mainstream media to itself, despite reasons for the media to resist open ties.  This isn’t Zootopia fandom taking over, it’s furries doing what they already love.

Fox Rambles 5: SJW Rant and More FFVII Dribble!

Good morning, friends!  I’m back once again to talk about my obsession: Final Fantasy VII; namely the Remake.  We all know about those quirky scenes of Cloud cross-dressing, the Gold Saucer date with Barret, and various other parts that some fans are absolutely in love with.  But, what if I told you that Square Enix may take out some of those scenes?  If a certain interview is enough to go by, then we may not see the Honey Bee Inn, or even Wall Market, at all.  Naturally, this is where I point t

Again!?” Yes, again.  I’ve been trying my damnedest to stay in the loop in regards to the Remake.  However, that’s proving to be difficult at this point in time.  Just like with Kingdom Hearts 3, Square Enix has been extremely mum about the Final Fantasy VII
