Songs like Modern Love which were big hits he wasn't a fan of. All good artists have some degree of self-loathing towards their work so it's not a big shock. I mean I hate about 95% of the art I've ever done (so much in fact I've deleted most of it, lost to time presumably unless someone on 4chan saved it which has happened more times than it really ever should), and I'm the greatest porn peddler to ever live! Zeke
Did some googling about it because I remember a tumblr person rebloging it, but more of the Allegations came from people who are well in their 30's-40's who attended his concerts regularly spreading the allegations for attention, or hopes that said celebrity pays attention to them. The few times he went to court over this, they dropped it due to lack of evidence. It's this kind of stuff that makes sexual abuse allegations more skeptical all around because of people like this crying wolf. Those you have to be wary of. Not saying that it does not happen, but you hear a lot about crazy groupies spreading things on the net about going backstage doing lines of coke and the said person taking advantage of them.

Troj
This thread reminds me of when a third grader I counseled told me that he was sick of hearing about that dumb Michael Jackson guy, because what did he do that was so great, anyway? A pack of 13-year-olds grumbling about David Bowie being a rapist and a fascist when they only just learned how to spell "fascist" and have never listened to Bowie's music is just as silly, and therefore, just as unworthy of our time and indignation. Hey man, opportunities to rack up those edge points don't come around too often so you gotta seize that shit.

Half-Note
Tumblr is a haven for cultural Marxist fascists that have the audacity to point out of the faults of others while at the same time having the hypocrisy to knowingly and blatantly ignore their own faults or the faults of their idols. Whatever their feminist agenda demands, I guess. Nevertheless, they deserve a special snowflake badge. Also, I'm not a fan of David Bowie, and I probably won't ever be, even post-mortem, but I have respect for what he did to influence modern music. Such a shame that people have to make it about themselves or try to find flaws to point out what he may or may not have done now that he's gone.

Rassah
When he was young, he was on some accident that injured his eye, making him blind in it and making it permanently dialated. There's stuff on Wiki about it.

Grubbit
I just adhere to the idea that an artist is separate from their art in a way. You can love the art that someone creates and their persona, and not like them as a person. Like, there was a big uproar online and with some of my friends on whether or not to see the "Ender's Game" movie, because Orson Scott Card is supposedly an extremely racist, homophobic, everything else kind of person. Somehow it turned into an argument of "If you see his movie or read his book, you are supporting racism." I imagine it's the same line of thinking for these people and David Bowie. "If you like his music, you support rape." (Not saying he did anything, just my two cents if he did. I know nothing about the whole thing.) Everyone is going to have some shitty opinion on something though, or have done some sketchy crap in the past. While that would effect maybe a friendship, me and David Bowie aren't friends... I'm just a consumer of his artwork. If we didn't entertain ourselves with the work created by people we disagreed with, then our list of "Favorite Movies/Books/Games" would be pretty damn short. The whole "Don't meet your heroes." thing comes to mind. Edited January 15, 2016 by Grubbit

feraleks
It's been a week since his last and almost fifty years since first album came out and he never sat still, but constantly sought new directions to explore, often with great success. He really is one of the truest artists who ever lived. At this point, I don't care if he devoured the souls of orphans to fuel his existence. That said, these accusations are petty lies by petty people.

She said that she felt a bit taken advantage of, but did not feel as if he raped her. There were photos showing her drinking and smoking, so David could have mistaken her for older than she was. Technically speaking it was statutory rape, but again, he may not have known her age at the time so it's really confusing. The fact that these people are bringing this up right after he died just makes me depressed. And yeah, that shit with the girl who nearly killed herself because of those people is just another level of sickening. That's honestly really tame compared to the whole rockstar/music scene of the 70's and the whole groupie/backstages affairs and happenings.
