This video was done two years ago so it was probably posted on FAF back then. I don't remember it at all though.

It's a positive video on furries in general. It's too bad some of the people she had to interview or film had to be so cringeworthy.

Oh, everyone in the fandom is cringeworthy.

I think the interviews were fine.

At least it seemed better than most media. Cause it portrayed it nicely and wasn't judgemental about the fandom.

This is funny because judging from my experience on this forum the fandom is judgemental about the fandom.

I mean the news organization who did it wasn't judgemental and seemed to show it as a fandom. I  remember the vanity fair article and how it portrayed the fandom.

So... it's accurate?

I'm sure we all know people who would have been far worse to interview.

Myself for example. I'd make a terrible spokesperson for the fandom.

Not because I would lie. I would tell the truth and be very accurate.

There are a great many things the public do not yet know about the furry fandom.

The question is does the fandom want them to know?

I think Kage would pull you away from the cameras if you said stuff about the fandom.

As he pulled me away I'd yell "Macro Fetish!"

Part of me wishes I could go to one of these furcons where there's a reporter there and basically do the furry version of this.

And namedrop @Kosha in the process.

I like how the caption says there is a train derailment in Norwood.

Well he helps. Cause i feel i not sure how to explain me being attracted to furry dudes and furry girls.

You explain it while speaking very slowly and looking deep into the interviewers eyes and gently stroking their leg.

Actually not a bad report on the fandom at all. I wonder how she feels about it two years later? Could be interesting.

In any case, the fandom is still growing. Should be interesting to see where it is ten years from now...

She wore the tail for at least a minute.

She is a furry now.

Haha yeah, that's what I thought, too. With the initial "ew, this ain't for me" only to be followed up with a "hey, that's not so bad. Actually, it's kinda hot." :D

They could've focused more on the art, but it's otherwise a pretty accurate representation.

That would be a terrible way to get the public to be more sympathetic towards the fandom.

Showing the news media your "sick lewds" may be exciting but normies are not ready for it.

Furry is not the only fandom with sexualised art. At a anime con i actually saw a vendor selling rule 34 having it under binders. Rule 34,if it exists, there is porn of it. no exceptions. Any thing can be sexualised. I have heard of a mod for Tomb raider that has the character nude. Ever heard of Star trek slash fiction. Anime has a dark side called hentai. Saying all furry art is sexual is like saying that all anime is hentai. I know of some furry artists who won't draw yiff.

Ahh, quite true, but that's human porn. Much easier for the non-fur to gloss over than drawings of dogdicks.

The most stupidest thing i have heard is that looking at furry animal people leads one to abuse animals. I'm like r u srs? I know for a fact that furries don't tolerate any form of animal abuse.

Large groups of people can easily believe stupid things, and changing their mind is incredibly hard.

That said, it's not like it doesn't happen either. There are known animal abusers in the "fandom", whether we like it or not.

As a matter of fact, I believe I just saw someone openly admit to it over at neoFAF earlier today. That place is sick; sick, I tell you.

There are people who do it, who brag about it, and people who don't do it but DEFEND it... which is just fucked up.

To be fair, looking at chase makes me to abuse other people so I guess it's like 50/50.

One thing i have noticed is that it seems over the internet, people know what a furry is,but irl seems many don't know.

The people you meet on the Internet are going to know what a furry is because they're on the Internet.

Lotsa IRL people aren't streetwise like us interweb rangers

this was a boring post I just made

Was recently chatting with a local kid about the arts and crafts they enjoy, and showed them a Beastcub fursuit that was relevant to the conversation, and without even blinking, the kid said, "Oh yeah, fursuits are cool," and then described a fursuit breakdance video they'd seen.

The kid otherwise didn't endorse any interest in the furry fandom or anthros, and seemingly saw fursuits as just another kind of craft project.

I was pleasantly gobsmacked.

There are a couple of trolls on FAF, one of them is called Somnium, whom I know repeatedly claim to have done all the bad things. I doubt they have.
