Like, I don't know what the fuck just happened. I fell asleep right, but then everything was so fucking vivid and it involved certain people, repressed things and this place and it's freaking me the fuck out. I don't do drugs or nothing, but I don't want to go back to sleep like fucking ever because this shit scaring the fuck out of me.

Please like my blog thank you. Oh and it involved blogs I think.

It's cool, you've actually gone out of body every single night since you were incarnated in this life.

It's just that most people don't notice it, because this physical reality is the only thing concrete enough to be "real". Anything not "real" is immediately discarded by our awareness.

It's a safety thing, when you believe that you're a body and not the soul animating the body you feel the need to protect said body as if it was all you ever were. Everything dubbed not as important as your survival is dropped until you no longer need such intense focus for your survival.

Does drugs include medications? Because some of those have given me pretty intense dreams before.

Or maybe you're just ready to transcend your physical existence and become a being of pure energy. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

You are a being of pure energy. Matter IS energy, just a super dense form of it. So dense, it warps space/time around it.

E=mc^2

1 gram of mass is the equivalent to the energy 21.481 kilotons of TNT releases upon detonation.

Someone who weighs as much as me (approx 140lbs) has the equivalent of 9.7435 megatons of TNT worth of energy, condensed into matter.

Well if OP explodes and takes out their city we'll know it worked.

Absolutely not.

I think I'm really weird. When I open my mouth people like to agree with that notion.

I don't talk much, I vent my weird on the internet.

For real though, I've mostly shit for people skills; I just keep my head down and hope I don't attract too much attention. People scare me. :V

Where did you get that math? If it is 21.481 kt to a gram, 140 lbs is 63,503 grams, so that gives us 1.36 GIGAtons.

Are we confusing lucid dreaming with out of body experiences? The semantics in this thread were just annoying me, that's all.

OBE's are amazing if you can learn to control them. Nothing is off limits in an OBE, and you can even dance with a furry. Not a fursuiter but a furry haha if you use your mind you can create whole new worlds.

Experiment, you may find you enjoy it.

Yeah, that is what I mean, this is technically lucid dreaming. Apparently it gets harder to do the older you get, which is a shame because I used to be quite good at it. If you have any tips I'd quite appreciate it.

Yeah I didn't fucking enjoy it. It was like being strapped into a bed and forced to endure an indescribable, nonstop stream of guilt, heartbreak, and other emo bullshit that only you can truly understand. Then suddenly waking up and being only able to stare into space, unable to process what the fuck just happened. Only to realize what it all meant causing you to relive everything you've tried to avoid?

10/10 A+ would do again

yes I know you didn't enjoy that particular experience. It doesn't sound like a true OBE to be honest. It sounds more like a lucid dream turned to nightmare.

An OBE is something usually that's done deliberately with a conscious mind. Even then it can be scary if you let your fears take advantage.

I am confidently going to say you did not have an OBE

I used to lucid dream, but haven't in a long time. Last time I had it was accidentally induced when I tried taking melatonin for a problem with sleeping, but other than that it was usually naturally occurring.

Pastry, your experience sounds like sleep paralysis. Luka, that is likely also what you are referring to.

Personally I find those where you're awake but can't speak or move your body more terrifying. Don't remember what they're called.

That is called Sleep Paralysis. It is a natural phenomenon that everyone has while sleeping to prevent the body from acting out dreams, thus injuring one's self.

It is also the first stage of OBE. If you have successfully entered sleep paralysis then you are almost there

this topic makes me think...

i've read so much shit about how awesome lucid dreams are supposed to be, and they fucking suck.

it's like making up a movie every fucking night, but you either get fucked by an alarm clock or your own sleeplessness before it's over.

you are in control, but not for long, and there is never a resolution to the dream...

i'd rather not dream at all, i fucking hate it. on my days off, i'll sleep for fucking 14+ hours sometimes, chasing some bullshit dream that came up out of nowhere while trying my damnedest to fall back asleep to finish it.

being in control of your dreams means less than fuck all, it sucks. it's been years with that shit, i HATE THEM, and it's every night. i don't want to know i'm dreaming.

it would be way better to not know i was dreaming while dreaming... like, how the hell does that even happen?

fuck that shit.

I'm sorry you feel that way. I see dreams less as a solitary experience, but a continuum. It isn't what one dream or another is about, but the combination of all they show you that tells you a lot about yourself.

Lucid dreams take practice, and with practice you can control them all the way through, and you can actually make yourself fall asleep again to continue one. I have done so many times. Of course, you can also wake up from them at will. I haven't had nightmares for many years because I just "eject" out of them, or actually tell them to fuck off. Its a useful skill to have just for that.

haha ok firstly, OBE is not dreaming! You are awake and fully conscious. It's actually travelling, so it's real. Not a dream at all.

secondly, it is most certainly possible to dream without knowing about it. In fact everyone does it. At some time or another (and generally more than a few times throughout ones life) you wake up and think that you had no dream at all. Truth is, you did but you don't remember it. We dream every single night without fail. Sometimes we remember those dreams, other times we do not

Oh boy an update to a dead thread? Sure because I'm not making a new one.

Well things have gotten worse. I've been having these 'lucid dreams turned nightmares' these last couple days making it virtually impossible to sleep...like at all. For example last night I had a dream which basically amounted to my brain more or less waterboarding me, as in I felt like I was drowning and eventually lost the ability to see or breath. I eventually woke up freaking the fuck out being unable to figure out if it was real or not.

Then I tried to go back to sleep but I couldn't move my head or any part of my body since they weighed 100 pounds and could only move by trying really fucking hard. This I know happened in real life and it became impossible to do anything as I felt as though closing my eyes would literally kill me. This happened for about an hour before I gave up and looked at some porn or something to distract myself. Overall I got about an hour of sleep before being woken up to an angry phone call screaming at me to get up and go to work since I slept through TWO different alarms both 2 inches away from my fucking ears.

Then I remembered I didn't have time to take my medication, or eat, or do anything and spent the next 10 hours wanting to kill myself. I don't look forward to sleeping tonight.

That first part makes me wonder if you suffer from sleep apnoea or something. Maybe you really just weren't breathing properly.

I know I've had a small handful of suffocating dreams only to wake up with a facefull of pillow or blanket.
