Sad Rant: I may not get Fallout 4 on launch

First world issue guys...

So I realized that while I have my copy of Fallout 4 pre-ordered and ready to ship when the game launches, there's no way in hell I'm gonna get it on release date unless I'm just ridiculously lucky. At best, I'll probably get it a few days after launch or a week after launch.

And in order to crave my desire of not getting anything spoiled, I'm gonna have to avoid the Internet like the plague. I may even have to avoid this place cause I know @Amiir is gonna be talking his ass off about it :V

Dammit, I had the whole day planned out too. I was gonna bake sweet rolls and buy a whole liter of Coca Cola and make Kraft mac and cheese in honor of Blamco mac and cheese. What if I finally get it but I have tons of schoolwork to do that week or something? I won't be able to enjoy that feast. Then I'll be getting texts from my friends talking about how awesome the game is and I'm just sitting in a chair, staring out the window as rain pours from the sky; rain droplets hitting the glass, a dog howling in the distance...

Excuse me?

It's only a game. Why would you want to bake anything especially to celebrate it?

I don't even plan to buy it on the first day, week, or month. I'll wait till I have the time and mood for playing it, and maybe for a nice discount for game keys. Hell. I waited for Witcher 3 for two years and yet I started playing it and bought it 2 months after it's release.

You don't lose anything by waiting for few additional days.

You...do realize I wasn't really serious in my OP, right?

Shouldn't you be buying some luminescent drink like Mountain Dew (only time it's justifiable) to symbolise Nuka-Cola in that case?  Plus you could always be a pirate and import your pirated save file into the legitimate copy upon receiving it.

That could be Nuka Cola Quantom. Regular Nuka Cola, Coca Cola.

And I got the pip-boy edition on ps4 so I don't really think pirating is an option. Plus I don't really feel right about pirating in general

Usually I wait to make sure the game is actually good before shelling out $60. Some games may launch smooth, others may launch rough. Better to let the devs work out the bugs before you dig in, after all.

With Bethesda games thats gonna happen regardless no matter how long you wait, least with the beauty of the PC version even without the mod tools at launch the modders find a way to do the community patches post haste, granted its part of the problem but honestly the day Bethesda release a bug free game, the worlds gonna end. :v

Will be interesting to see what mods will be allowed and made available for XONE and then eventually PS4, the community patches would be a godsend to them, especially if either console version has a save bloating issue, R.I.P Skyrim PS3, since Fallout 4 is being made an on enhanced skyrim engine I kind of worry that will be one of the key issues that will worm its way back in.

The post is a joke, but while we're on the subject I may as well comment on it =/

Personally, I think that anyone who pre-orders games is an idiot and detriment to all gamers.

:( I tried really hard not to pre-order. I actually havent pre-order a lot of games lately.

But that pip-boy edition...that was my breaking point man...

Rest assured Dev, I won't be able to talk about it on launch 'cause I still have to either get a gaming PC or a PS4. With 99% probability I will go for the former. Think of all the porn mods!

I only really ever pre-order the collectible stuff, what can I say I enjoy collectibles D: but Its rare I pre-order a regular game copy.

I don't think collectors editions fall into the same stigma as regular pre-orders, but I hate collectors editions that include exclusive game content that no one else will ever get or they may get it years after the fact when no one cares about the game any more.

I'm getting the pipboy edition as well I will destroy my life with this game when it comes out hopefully it is not loaded with game breaking bugs like TES skyrim as this will be the first Next-gen platform they have done.

I suppose with it being made from an enhanced skyrim engine this might be the first one were they don't let some blatantly obvious bugs slip by but we'll just have to see.

Hoping for a Bethesda game to have no game breaking bugs is like hoping for rain in California. You can stand around, hoping all day, but you're still going to get burnt.

Hey guys! I got an idea!

you know that great 1st person perspective RPG series? We should make the same game again but this time but take away all the cool and interesting things like magic and swords and replace it with guns....cause guns are always the answer to making a ton of money.

except for the fact that fallout started off as a top down RPG and didn't go over to first person until Fallout 3 years after it had already established itself as a great game franchise

i know, i loved the idea of a top down tactical shooter.

imagine how awesome fall out 4 would be if it went back to the whole tactical shooter...it would be so fleshed out and amazing. It would be like metal gear acid but actually good!

I just see pirating as an extended demo without 'all the best bits' and instead you get the proper gameplay, and I had a feeling there was a green nuka-cola but I couldn't remember which special type it was xD

Fallout 4 is one of the three games I know about that I'm really looking forward to. REALLY looking forward to.

XCOM2 and Stellaris being the other two.

I really can't wait for XCOM2, sunk way too many hours into the previous and also the original series back from the old days, though I had started using the Long War mod on the recent one and the difficult jump was insane but fun, and this Stellaris looks really nice, hadn't heard of it until now.

Well, in my opinion Xcom was an abomination that had nothing in common with the series and I don't believe Xcom 2 will be any better.
So actually, both those series are similar, both discontinuing the previous mood and setting.

In both cases sequels are decent games, on their own, but only if we overlook the series.

It's okay, I don't even know what Fallout 3, 2 & 1 are about.

Wild guess, something nuclear?

Set in a post-apocalyptic future. Fallout 1 & 2 are isometric RPGs with a kind-of turn based combat system, whilst Fallout 3 and forward are first-person with an optional third-person shooters with RPG elements. They're fun. And yes, things go nuclear. Very nuclear. There are cars that will blow up because of their mini-nuclear reactors. Much nuclears. Your atoms will be splitting with entertainment.

No need to Worry OP, Metal Gear Solid V has been out for almost A MONTH and I've been making much slower progress than most people who made it. But I've still successfully avoided spoilers in the game. I'm sure you will too, it's not that hard. :3

But even if it is spoiled for you, well, I don't see the point of crying over spilt milk. Actually, there's less of a point getting mad over spoilers than over spilt milk.

I mean, I accidentally ran into a spoiler regarding the ending for Metal Gear Solid 4 when it was new but you know what? I still didn't know why or how what happened in the spoiler happened. So there were still a lot of surprises in store and MGS4 was well worth it, too. Man, I loved MGS4.

My point is, Dev, DON'T WORRY, BE HAPPEH. <3
