Privilege? (tranny bullshit)

I feel like rambling, which I suppose no one missed but I'm bored as fuck so here we go. VENT TIEMS.

The thing is, I'm not satisfied with transgender healthcare in this country. But it's like, I feel like I shouldn't complain considering Sweden has government healthcare so it's basically free and, well, that's fucking awesome. So I guess I am a bit privileged compared to trans people in like, the US or some other bastard countries.

However, our healthcare is very bare bones. I used to be balding, which hormones fixed in the last moment but I didn't know that at the time, so I was asking if there was treatment for that but they were just dismissive and offered that I wear a wig instead and frankly, wearing a wig would be humiliating as fuck for me so thank fuck I don't have to wear that.

Face feminization surgery is also not a thing here, which means I was one of the lucky trans women in how I was already born looking female enough to pass. Fuck me, trans women here shouldn't be forced to pay all that money just to look like a goddamn woman.

Then there's also the whole bullshit about how you're not allowed to start transitioning before you're 18 in this country. Fuckin' 18, when puberty has probably already fucked us up pretty badly.

And right now I'm being salty because despite four years of hormones I still have fuckin' chest hair I need to shave or epilate so things won't be awkward when I'm dating or whatever. There is no reason things have to be like this and I'll call the doctors today and yell at them about it but with my luck they'll probably just shift blame to those politicians just like they do to explain how I gotta wait a year and a fuckin' half just to have surgery.

Last time I brought up the chest hair thing the doctors are like "that's normal lol" and I'm like, so is women with facial hair so you can't fuckin' use that excuse to deny me some goddamn treatment.

I'm legally female now but sometimes I'm still left feeling like some kind of genderless mutant rather than a normal, healthy woman.

Or, I dunno, maybe this is just my anger management issues again. Whatevs.

And don't worry, my life is actually pretty damned good right now but I don't wanna rave about private matters so this rant is what y'all fuckers get. :P

So you were losing your hair due to a hormone imbalance? How did that happen?

I doubt that was the case. I dunno what it was, I'll assume androgen blockers fixed it once I got started on the hormones.

I'm very paranoid about sharing pics of myself online but you should totally see what I used to look like in my early 20's, it's ridiculous.

Also, I was a lot thinner back then.

have you looked into possibly increasing your dosage?

I could be wrong but I think increasing the dosage would actually be harmful for me, my dosage is already somewhat high.

That and I've been on HRT for four years, I kinda doubt hormones alone will get rid of it. I mean, sure, the hairs are hard to see and a lot shorter these days... but they're still there.

I hope my doctor calls me back ASAP, I wanna ask if I can get electrolysis for my chest. If not... I'm going to flip all the tables in the world. -_-

I'm lucky in that my face is already androgynous as fuck. My body shape and voice just kind of... aren't.

Also, a lot of women have body hair.
A lot of people just wouldn't know, because they shave all that shit. Because if you're already sitting down long enough to shave your legs for the third time that week, might as well take care of everything else.

I know a handful of women who have facial and chest hair; I kind of feel that maybe tax payers' money ought to be spent on things like palliative care for the elderly, rather than cosmetic treatments to remove body hair?

I'm glad to see your pepe-le-pew avatar around again though. :3

It's more than just cosmetics for us trans people, though. Besides, taxes in Sweden are already high, so no one will notice if we raise them more. ;P

Also, thanks. I figured people wouldn't miss me at all since i can be a cunt at times, rofl.

Hmm, interesting point. Just, someone pointed out the chest hair thing to me IRL (maybe it was my fault 'cause I had forgotten to use my epilator on it that week) and it was kinda awkward and I remembered I had asked for help on that the past but just been ignored. So I'm pretty pissed at the doctors.

ah yeah, if it's already high then it probably won't help that much.

if anything though, you could tell potential partners that you have a hormonal problem that causes the hair :v

Again, a lot of people don't really expect how much hair women actually grow, or can grow, just because it's not really a socially-accepted thing.

Even if you don't put on makeup, or dress up, or anything like that,
people still coil back at a woman with thick leg hair or armpit hair or body hair. Just... because that goes against the whole "supposed to be soft eye candy" bullshit. And that's one of the stronger stereotypes that's still generally accepted and lingering around.

Hell, one of my friends regularly grows a light mustache, and she's cis. She just waxes and shaves.

It's awkward, but I wouldn't take it as invalidation to your transition.
It just falls under the category of shitty gender stereotype problems.

We should all be very jealous of glabrous people who don't have as much body hair to begin with. :c

If I had the money, I would just get rid of my ability to grow leg hair altogether.

Shit's itchy and annoying as a concept.
Idgaf what gender you are.

Turns out I will get hair removal for my chest anyway soon enough.

So, uh, what shall become of this thread? Shall I use it to just piss and moan about trans stuff in general or do we go off-topic by making an RP orgy or whatever? :U

Im like the opposite in a weird way. Used to kinda just shave semi-regularly because meh its normal and I gotta look nice. Despite not even shaving often already still wouldve liked treatment to remove it so I didnt have to deal with it. Thats until I learned from someone I cared about it actually doesnt friggin matter in making me more or less presentable and nice-looking. Bonus is the culturally made masculinizing effect (same reason I'd wanted shorter hair even though females have short hair too and males have long hair too)

i dont suffer from the problem of body hair feeling itchy or uncomfortable, except for pubic hair, so I dont really feel the need to remove any of it.

also Ive apparently developed a bit of chest hair as of late and I have no idea when or why. But frick it leaving that too

Even if it is slow, atleast you can recieve these surgeries.

Unlike a few states, if I were to opt for SRS I would be paying a large amount of money with my cheapest option being to fly to thailand.

For hair removal, I think it is thousands to have it done and even though I make 40k or so a year it is a very long time off if at all.

In other news, my facial hair is stopping growing by itself! Yay!

I just thought about something.

If I could have hair removal for my chest, why wasn't I given it in the first place? I know I brought it up and the doctors were just being dismissive then.

I could've started this much sooner. What the hell? ._________.

Yeah, public health care really is pretty barebones. I mean it's nice to have and better than nothing but don't you DARE demand treatment for something a little more exotic!
My parents have private health care. It essentially means that you pay for everything up front and then you get most of your cash back afterwards. It's more expensive overall but you also get access to better treatment, especially for your teeth.
Doctors like to deny that private patients get better service but that's a lie, they absolutely do get better service. When we made the switch from public to private we didn't have to wait three hours for our turn anymore at the hospital where they checked on my back every three months. And all of a sudden we also got completely different medicine! No idea if it was better or not but the brands were different. Maybe those were more expensive, I dunno...

Anyway, as for transitioning, here in Germany it was decided all the way back in 1987 that the public health care system has to cover the costs for transitioning, including hormone therapy and all operations. If the hormone therapy didn't result in big enough breats they will even cover the costs for implants.
You just have prove that you are actually transsexual, that transitioning is the only way to "heal" you (that's how the legal text says it) and that you won't suddenly change your mind afterwards.
I'm not transsexual myself but to me the system seems fair. These regulations make sure that only true trans people get the treatment and from what I can see the requirements to get the treatment aren't too extreme. You need the diagnosis, it needs to be clear that medication or psychological help won't change the situation, transitioning needs to be the only option for treatment, you have to go through some psychotherapy (basically just to make sure you are not crazy) and that's pretty much it.
One of my customers is a transdude and apparently getting his new passport was the biggest hassle. But not because he transitioned, it was because getting a new passport always sucks.

If she's with partners and they notice the hair, eventually I assume they're gonna get busy and find out real fast exactly WHY she has chest hair... unless she's post-op and doesn't have a tally wagger anymore.

Well, I would always tell someone I'm trans beforehand so I wouldn't get, you know, MURDERED but it's still an obstacle that makes snuggling and things like that awkward for everyone involved. :S

Just snuggling? What, do you have just a little hair or a full fro under that shirt?
