Ferzu: Another "Furry Facebook"?

After spending a few days on Ferzu I can honestly say I'm thinking about deleting my account. With all the incoherent psychobabble I am finding it difficult to take anything seriously or believe that it can actually serve as a dating site or a solid way of making legitimate friendships.

My advice, don't waste your time until the site establishes a solid foundation to build on.

Site's shit.

Yes, 'tis sad, I had such high hopes for what cringe might come out of such a site, but in the end, it is just one endless stream of shitposting... I expected more from the furry community.

Unfunny shitposting at that.

Funny, I expected less.

Well, as I was expecting cringe, I guess it is actually a positive on the community that it failed to meet my expectations?

Though I don't know if shitposting is much better than cringe...

Nah, Furzu is just another prime example of furries being furries. It's a lot like here in way, except most know each other and have an idea of what's acceptable or not. I much prefer a furry-centric community that orientates more around the people themselves with furry elements mixed in.

I remember I was on 'Pounced' once a long time ago.

Turns out shitposting on internet forums is a way better dating tool. Go figure.

I find it sad that if you check Pounced a couple of years later you end will up finding that the same people are still on it updating their profiles.

The introduction "speech" was so scripted pitch and felt like I was being told about the site by a fucking telemarketer

Now I am really skeptic about joining the site, especially if it is anything like Facebook (except with more relatable cringe). For dating, most furry sites are a failure and I had my own low moment once upon in time when I tried a few

Why do furries only date among themselves? It's fuckin retarded. It's like we're the only voluntary leper colony. Or an apocalyptic ufo cult.

Id disagree. My bf is a furry but it wasnt the reason for us hooking up. He just so happens to have the same interest in the fandom as me. Even if he wasn't a furry I'd still fall for him. Could be the same deal for any other couple thats in the fandom. We don't really know in all cases what brings people together

That makes sense. Ok, then I'll rephrase it. Why do many furries seem to want to socialize only with other furries?

The whole negative viewpoint of furries by the public I suppose. That and some STILL feel that being a furry is on the same level as being gay and they only feel safe talking to furries. They believe "coming out" as furry, is a thing.

people like to date others who share similar interests with them

refusing to date non-furries is one thing, but preferring to date someone who is also a furry because it's a common interest is a pretty common thing in a lot of different circles

For me, it's not necessary but preferable since a non-furry will probably find the whole thing pretty weird. Plus you can get commissions of both of your characters doing the nasty. Also it's fun to share your fav fur porn with each other!

How the fuck does the site even work, then? I mean, you kinda have to be using the internet to access the site, log in, etc...

"not accessible from the internet" is the user friendly way of saying: "you have to be logged in to access".

Working in tech support I commonly use technically wrong statements, describing the outcome not the actual cause. It makes users happy to not feel overwhelmed or dump.

I wonder how the gay community at large feels about this. Is it similar to otherkin believing they are in the same boat as the trans community?

Probably ambivalence or mild annoyance. The whole "FURRIEZ R OPPRESSED LIEK DA GAYZ!!!1" thing has died down for the most part in my experience so I doubt anyone really cares anyone.

Agreed. It comes across like a slick sales pitch. The fandom has historically been more of a grassroots phenomenon.
