I'm not talking about just randomly taking some random person off the street, I'm talking about the candidates chosen by the party. The Electoral College is an extra step that is redundant.

It was a compromise made before anybody realized all of the party crap would happen. The parties then happened, and the redundancy became beneficial to them. The Electoral College, like much else, was worded vaguely in order for change to be possible, but why would the parties change it if it benefits them?

I think the idea of an electoral college goes against everything democracy is supposed to be.

If only the founding fathers didn't hate democracy so much that they reluctantly agreed on such a convoluted representative democracy.

Don't worry, we're all sick of the election cycle too. Why does the process have to be so convoluted? Why can't we just have a majority vote for each state, and then tally up the states? Why do we need an electoral college?

Mostly because some americans are to dumb to tie their own shoelaces. Hell, just look at how many parents leave guns around toddlers and then scream and rage that the gun industry is to blame..

Then again, can't say much.. we have a woman in holland who is suing the Tobacco industry because of her lung cancer (let's ignore the fact that she still! smokes 2 packs a day)

Aww shit, my internet is all weird. Some sites like twitter and IsItDownRightNow (ironic) refuse to load, claiming "the server can't be found", while other sites like Facebook and Reddit load just fine, albeit unusually slow.

Also, I can't access my ISP's bill-pay site because it's rejecting my usual login, and attempts at resetting my ID send back errors.

I'm currently in line to chat with a tech person, with.... 15 people currently ahead of me.

Fuck you, Frontier Communications.

So far, Phoenix is the only site that is completely unaffected....

EDIT: Never got to talk to that tech person, but sites are loading properly now and Frontier.com finally has a notice up that their billing system isn't working. Good to know it was't just my account.

I wish I knew what was up with the sites not loading tho. My internet has been doing weird stuff lately... Like for example, almost every day theres a 5-10 minute stretch of not being able to access anything, even though the router is properly connected and can successfully ping the ISP. Restarting the router does no good and you've just got to wait it out. Our lines are in good shape to the best of my knowledge, and the router was replaced just a few months ago, so I don't know why i'd be having problems. It's probably on their end, but they sure don't bother to tell you that.

I should have stayed on hold and ask the techies about it, but they're little more than trained monkeys at that outfit so I doubt they'd know.

EDIT 2: Whoa boy, now it's randomly deciding to not load images on some sites. I don't need this shit. >:\

EDIT 3: Haha, now their Twitter support page is blowing up with Identical complaints coming in from every corner of the US..... How did they manage to fuck up their service for the entire nation?? I hate this company.

Ok! Monday on the week of a big deadline! Gotta hit the ground running!

*Proceeds to have doctor appointment and problematic prescription fill that take to 11 am*

Oh hey look! That other thing I finished last week has been reopened. Again >:U

Fortunately, I'm bursting with ideas and eager to work on them!

Unfortunately, they're all ideas for Furry pics!

Well, today was largely a bust.

But, I did get to interview a prospective new team member! He seems like he'd be an excellent addition to the team (tomorrow's candidate has a really tough act to follow). He had a pretty cool necklace with a bear on it. So that just seals the deal! :V

Don't know why, sometimes, using Firefox, I'll have facebook up in a tab and it causes all my tabs and every website to refuse to load, as if my internet went down. The instant I close the FB tab, all the other tags will immediately load and the internet will work fine. It will basically act as if I unplugged the internet for as long as the fb tag is open. Close it, everything's fine.

Also, speaking of FB, Target put up an ad for their Civil War toys. The REAL civil war is currently in the comments, where ignorant Americans bitch about Trans people in the bathroom. Keep whining you fucks, as you continuously remind me of how smarter I am than you as you open your mouth and stupid comes out.

Literally. Listening to people be stupid actually makes me feel like the vast majority of humanity are primitive cockroaches, refusing to rise above their primitive animal instincts even though they have the brain capacity to do so.

Got an ultrasound done today. Pray they remove my cancers. Also my dog gets put down later on. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't crying for numerous reasons today. At least he lived a long, good life. I just wish I had more time with him...

Anyone own a smartwatch? Are they worth it?

The only smartwatch I would ever buy is the "Pebble". It's simple, cross-platform, inexpensive, low power, and does only what a smartwatch should do—not be a second smartphone, but keep a small bit of pertinent information at a wrist's glance.

Being the resident Apple afinicando, I should probably be plugging the Apple Watch; but I think it's a little shit bit that was stuck up Jony Ive's ass too long.

The "Pebble" does sound like a good choice ($300 here) but I kinda like the extra functionality of the "Gear 2" ($500 here). The heart rate sensor, the APP support, the ease of use (that dial kicks ass) and having an IP68 water resistance rating is a selling point to me.

The thing is, I don't consider myself a watch person, and it wouldn't be the sort of thing I wear every day even though they are appealing to me. The reason I usually don't wear one is because they feel uncomfortable, but the market is already flooded with smartphones and everyone has one of those, not to mention that they are still lacking any real innovation. I suppose this is my way of breaking free from the norm a little while still having something of the same equivalence, and I don't know anyone that actually owns a "Smartwatch".

In any case, I might even go with an el-cheapo like the "Uwatch U8" just to see if I like the idea of having one...

"If I, if I have been unkind,
I hope that you can just let it go by.
If I, if I have been untrue,
I hope you know it was never to you.

Like a bird on the wire,
Like a drunk in a midnight choir
I have tried in my way to be free."

- Leonard Cohen, "Bird on a Wire"

Just sharing because that song  just played on the radio and I think it's pretty.

Try cutting it, like cutting text from a document.

I think I tried that and it didn't work. It refused to let me delete anything I had typed. Pressed backspace and everything.

Saw a meme with a cringeworthy orange cat fursuit, text said "I am dead on the inside".... someone says it's a character called Cool Cat.... so, some creepy furry?

Two more interviewees today for the project. I honestly kind of enjoy the process (except when The Bureaucrat interrupts my interviewing process by asking follow up questions that I wanted to leave unsaid - what a candidate neglects to say can be as important as what they do say). It's also kind of neat to evaluate these people who were basically where I was at 6 (almost 7!) years ago and finally feel like I really have made progress in that time. Some days I feel like the years here have been a waste and I haven't grown at all; that I don't have a career but a dead-end job. Today was not one of those days.

Oh yeah and the two other candidates weren't even close to on par with the bear-necklace guy.

Wow. I watched a couple of war in Syria videos. I stumbled upon one where some IS guy got bombed by a french missile. You couldn't see anything because the camera was facing the ground but you could hear either him or the cameraman lamenting in excruciating pain, gargling in his own blood as he was struggling to even breathe. Even if they probably deserved it, I realize I'm a very impressionable person. My stomach aches

Last time, swear to God

-_-

No, they...didn't deserve to die in excruciating pain, choking on their own blood. No one does. Hatred makes people stupid, don't succumb to it.

Glad you had a good day for a change!!

I'm actually starting to look forward to these little workplace updates of yours.

It's like some sort of bad sitcom.

A quick death is better than a painful slow death, but you're not going to find a lot of sympathy from me. Especially considering the kind of things these people do, torturing, genocide, rape of underage girls, dismembering criminals....

I really really want to watch an anime with werewolf romance (that's not edgy). That would really spice things up.

Wolf Children? There's a werewolf and some romance in the beginning.
Spice and Wolf? She's not a werewolf (though she can transform), and there's adorable romance.

Lucius I hope you beat your cancer.

On some video about trans bathroom policy some woman commented "God doesn't make mistakes" which is what I hear a lot from small minded religious idiots. It's like their favorite catch phrase... it's not even a good argument yet they blurt it out and pat themselves on the back for "winning" the argument.

I replied to her asking, if that was the case, then why did she exist? I think I should use that retort more often.

Seen both haha. Both are grande. I need more. Fox gals are just as fine too.

Also sorry folks if I'm rather whiney. I know there are those with more problems than I, however... Doesn't make my problems any less hard to bare, although its not likely someone could help here huh? I'll refrain from such behavior.

I always keep that in mind when somebody is born as a hemaphrodite or has birth defects.

Or, has autism, or down syndrome. I guess those aren't "mistakes". (I don't really consider them mistakes, but I also see trans people in the same way, as being born different from a human norm).

Twice I've seen some black religious nutter screeching about gays and trans people. If I hate at these guys, am I racist?
