WTF kind of school do you go to?

Are you sure it is actually a "school?"

It's the district's new school, all techy and fancy. It's quite pleasant, with skylights and open-concept design. Everyone is quite nice generally because they're all Canadian. A friend of a friend was printing them off. I must now spread the word of Elvis Christ.

I'm also listening to Elvis right now. I forgot how good he is.

At last!

After months of low-heat back-and-forth with several business analysts, multiple independent investigations have culminated in a handful of meetings to hammering out the final details of this solution!

We shall move these 3 lines from outside this for-loop to inside it!

All that time, for those three lines of code?

Yep. It is an older section that neither the client nor us have much in the way of "domain expertise" in, if you catch my meaning. ;)

I argued in favor of also refactoring the code to streamline its flow. It's a rather decrepit and poorly designed area, chocked with scenario-specific flag variables. I wanted to make it easier to maintain in the future. Sadly, they opted not to pursue that.

The change is scheduled to be implemented at the end of June.

An update on the alien abductee person: he got back to me. I told him I was abducted and he asked how I could remember it.

Like, is this person serious?

Am I being trolled?

I am so confused.

Tell him all you have are flashbacks, vague memories, nothing more.

And I feel that the tone of my careers class was set when the first words in the video we were viewing were:

"I'm going to hand you the artificial horse vagina."

2nd place was "Rats are very dishonest."

So, Animal Crossing update.

Two animals asked me to specify a greeting for them. They now blurt out "Dildo" and "Butt stuff" first thing in the morning. Another animal asked for a new catchphrase and now says "I'm gay" every three seconds.

Moral of the story: don't put me in charge of anything because I will corrupt it with immature bullshit.

Also, Derwin moved in and he's like inhumanly autistic and annoying as shit and I want him fucking gone.

So I've been beating the shit out of him with the bug net

He no longer tries to talk to me so I think it's working

Our mascot looks like sonic the hedgehog,

Last year our student council was composed entirely of females, (I left student council, the only guy.)

There's little to no division between groups and cliques,

Somebody airdropped Shrek is love to the projector in the middle of math class,

We have only one misogynist in our entire grade,

I dont know man, seems pretty typical.

Had an idea at work; need to write it down before I forget.

The furmap backing the hair color choice function doesn't need to be 2K rez. It only weights the random value so the difference in a low rez map should be imperceptible (to a point; try 256x256 maybe 512) and may render faster.

A bunch of sysadmins get stuck in a data center. They form tribes based on their preference for Windows or Linux, and proceed to beat the crap out of each other.

No no they fight using code and hurling insults over messenger apps. Instead of burning the forest down somebody initiates a system wide format.

And instead of having to keep a signal fire burning they gotta keep their twitch stream running.

My cat pissed on my tablet and fried it so now I'm having to use my crippled old laptop.

Wash it with lots of distilled water ( ONLY distilled). Be sure to let it dry for a long while (maybe put it in rice), then try it. Might not work, but can't be any worse off!

Wash it how? The piss is inside the tablet and it's a bitch to get open. It happened overnight too so it's had plenty of time to seep into everything and short traces and components. Pretty sure it's already toast.

As in repeated submerging or pouring over. If pee can get in, so can distilled water. Take the battery out, too if you can. The impurities in the pee are left behind when it passes over dries on it. These create a short by providing a bridge between components.

Distilled water picks up the impurities (that's why you don't drink completly distilled water, it leeches the minerals out of your body) and pulls them away as it washes out. Do it enough and you clear out what causes the short. Might not work, but couldn't hurt any more than it already is.

I NEED TO STUDY BUT I CAN'T FIND THE MOTIVATION AT ALL PLEASE HELP

3 hours ago, Feelwell the Rabbit said:

Just finished reading "Lord of the Flies." Good food for thought, especially the notes at the end of it, the interpretation. Classic English literature like LotF and Of Mice and Men are wonderful.

I remember reading somewhere someone said you were 16 years old or so. Would that mean those books are for GCSE study (if you're in the UK)? Both of those books are like rite of passages for every GCSE student - almost everyone who did GCSE English read them.

Edit: Oh yeah! I was (trying) to study today in college today and just a thought suddenly sparked in my head about this weird-ass dream I had either last night or the night before. I watched some documentary on North Korea and I think some clickbait article came up on my facebook feed so I ended up dreaming about NK. I'm not even that fascinated by it or anything, I was just really really bored and procrastinating. Anyway, I dreamt that I just up and left my home one day to take a vacation in North Korea with one of my pals. I remember not telling my mum as she would freak out. I think I remember getting a phone call from her while I was there and made up some bullshit excuse like 'oh yeah I'm just at a mates house!' I remember being shown around Pyongyang or something, but I was for some reason so afraid of being arrested or something I hardly spoke the entire time! I wanted to just go home but I didn't want to say to anyone I wasn't enjoying it and wanted to leave. I don't really have much of an opinion on NK as a whole, more just a fascination so it was pretty irrational of me to be afraid of being arrested but hey, I was dreaming. The last thing I remember before waking up is I was packing to get ready to go home and some car pulled up outside wherever I was staying to take me home. It's not even that weird a dream, but still pretty funny.

Speaking of NK, I was looking up art of the characters from that NK furry propaganda film, and amusing myself because instead of taking the prime opportunity to make the Americans fat pigs, they represent them with a hot ass fox chick. I swear, Kim Jong Un just made half the kids in his country into furries.

It's been dropped here before. It's called Squirrel and Hedgehog, you can find a little of it on Youtube.

I don't know exactly why the North Koreans are a bunch of wimpy ass pussy squirrels. If you're gonna depict yourself in something you should be the most badass character in the movie.

But I guess it fits in the NK narrative that they're the poor country being bullied and victimized by the evil western imperialists (funny how dictators throw around the word imperialists like it's an insult).

Canadian born and raised, this is the required reading for English though. Romeo and Juliet, To Kill a Mockingbird, 13 Reasons Why, Night (Not to be confused with 12th Night), and Lord of the Flies were this year. 12th Night, of Mice and Men and one other were last year. I do enjoy the old literature and the themes it explores, although 13 Reasons why was quite depressing.

Mmm, nah, I think I'll pass. Components can store a charge even if the battery is disconnected (which is why CRTs are so dangerous, you'll get lit the fuck up off those capacitors) and causing even more short circuits is just begging for something to overvolt and physically fail even more than it already may have. Thanks anyway though.

I find it interesting how that's their perspective of things between themselves and the US. And hey, those wimpy ass, pussy squirrels can fight!

13 Reasons Why is literally one of my favourite non-furry books.

I watched all of what's online once. Great show, not biased towards NK supremacy via metaphors or anything.

Seriously though it's a great watch, shame there's so little of it since it's been out for a long time and gets an episode very seldom.

I only liked the parts where the victim spoke, not the effect it had on clay. He was pretty whiny in my opinion.

I dunno, I just really like novels like that, sorta mystery type.

I'm just a lot grounded in reality when it comes to my fiction, which is why things like slice-of-life/drama/mystery/other things like that pique my curiousity more than sci-fi.
