It would have been much better if it was at a hotel downtown. Having it at a hotel in an industrial area near the airport was a disaster. It was nothing like my experience at FWA where I felt very welcome and comfortable suiting around downtown Atlanta and was surrounded by great resturants and things to do. RF was too isolated. Well I mean it's pretty much standard procedure in a lot of different communities whenever they're forced to deal with an especially horrible segment of the population that won't fucking go away. Imageboards and forums do this a lot, for example 4chan does this all the fucking time with standout examples being /pol/, /b/, and /mlp/. Of course, so long as they stay away from here I'll be happy. With the fandom being hypersexual and in general lacking a lot of tact (see FA), I'm turned off from them. RF reenforced this belief. But I hear BLFC is good. Probably because of hardcore security. If you say there are a similar amount of incidents in furry as, say, an anime con, then that means a higher percentage of furries are weirdos compared to anime fans. It should be a similar percentage, not an amount. I know there are a lot of awesome furries, but it's people like those who go to RF for crinkle time that scare me away from the fandom proper. When I don't want to deal with sex, I just don't go into "adults only" areas like the Bad Dragon tent or adult art shows, attend "after-dark" panels, or peruse artists' 18+ binders. I also have a decent radar for creepers and morons, and so I err on the side of avoiding people whose demeanor, body language, or appearance raises any red flags. My sense is that a lot of it has to do with how savvy and on-the-ball the staff are when it comes to setting and enforcing the tone of the con.
