Horrifically Bad Fursuits

Recommended Posts

Ah, so we're on to the Confederate suit, are we?

As someone from the great state of Tennessee, I have a little history lesson for you:

confederateflags.thumb.png.f984d46e1dc21

That's right, homefur's not even wearing a Confederate Flag.

MFF constaff must be feeling pretty goddamned stupid right about now. I'm going to continue to publicly point out their idiocy.

Unless you are from SC, and SC had a hateboner for blacks back in the 1960's and flew the flag in objection to the repeal of the Jim Crow/Lynching laws since that state took about 25 some odd years to actually "tolerate" integration after.

Also, the guy's using the Northern Virginia version.

I think a confederate flag fursuit is still tasteless as shit, but not my money. :V

But, from a strictly practical standpoint, it doesn't matter what the "real" flag does or doesn't look like if the fursuiter's intention was to have a Confederate flag fursuit, and/or if onlookers see the fursuit as representing "the" Confederate flag.

And, the plain reality is that the Confederate flag carries extremely strong negative connotations for people, regardless of how many Southerners might interpret it. There are reasons for that.

In a similar vein, it doesn't matter that the swastika was originally a sacred symbol for Buddhists, Jains, Hindus, ancient Greeks, and Native Americans--if your fursuit has unironic swastikas all over it, people will assume you're a Nazi sympathizer, and you will likely get blowback or criticism because of that.

That's not the Virginia flag. The Virginia Flag was square.

I know, and I am remarking on the design of the fursuit's "flag" since it is more akin to that from the one's you'd see today or find in a walmart in the middle of nowheresville.

Then again, I am biased since the people I knew who waved the flag tend to be the most entitled people in comparison to the people they complain about...while selling Meth to those same people. :V

Anyways, Fursuiters who take controversial things and make it for teh lulz tend to be attentionwhores. Nuff said.

"The Army of Tennessee was the principal Confederate army operating between the Appalachian Mountains and the Mississippi River during the American Civil War. It was formed in late 1862 and fought until the end of the war in 1865, participating in most of the significant battles in the Western Theater. It should not be confused with the Union Army of the Tennessee, named after the Tennessee River."

That ' s right he is wearing the flag of a confederate army! Much better...

Tennesse also had a union army, but they did NOT fly that flag.

Or you could be a patriot exercising your freedom of speech.

I wouldn't really see the point of exercising your freedom of speech that way at a fur-con. First, fur-cons are private events, so there are already limits to expression and speech. Second, most furries would fixate on the symbol, and your patriotic intention and message would be drowned out by all the screaming and drama. Third, because most people would fixate on the symbol alone, you'd probably end up alienating most the fandom because of it.

Pragmatically, it's a dumb way to express yourself, especially if you want to be part of a community, and not a lone wolf performance artist. Self-expression carries potential risks and consequences.

That said, it's unfortunate that people have threatened to attack this suiter or damage the suit. Really, the best response would've been for people to let the con staff handle the situation.

I also admit that I'm kind of annoyed at all of the self-righteous indignation and outrage that's emerged around the suit, when there are people in the fandom who have done much more damaging and hurtful things that have gotten almost negligible airplay by comparison.

Hey! Stop trying to make that fursuit a symbol of hate!

It is not like one of the major corps within that army was lead by Nathan Bedford Forrest, prominent member of the first Ku Klux Klan, and it certainly isn't like he used that army and his cavalry corps to slaughter most of a surrendered garrison comprised mostly of black soldiers and civilians, regularly gave no quarter when attacking positions, and frequently went on bloodthirsty guerrilla missions against civilian targets.

People really should have just reported the suit and moved on, though.

"Really, the best response would've been for people to let the con staff handle the situation."

Con staff did handle the situation, by banning the person from wearing the suit instead of banning the assholes making threats, thus sending the message that it's A-OKAY to harass and make threats DESPITE THEIR OWN WRITTEN FUCKING POLICY, as they'll just side with the harassers and deal with the person being harassed/threatened instead of taking the hard way out and dealing with the actual assholes.

Banning the suiter was a bad response, really. Compared to people going out in the suits they get spunk on, a confed suit is really light by comparison. However, staff will usually get rid of the patient zero of the drama than to try and remedy the situation which isn't a good way to resolve it.

Granted, most of the people who fought in the civil war weren't even land owners. They were either protecting their homes or were convinced with what the majority of the rich plantation owners (wich was less than 5%) said was true.

Asking furries to do the logical thing is like asking the Daesh to stop suicide bombing people.

It gets really difficult to track down a bunch of people when everyone is saying "other people said this" or that "other people said that" without a digital record.

It is also entirely up to them what they do, too. They probably saw it as a choice between eliminating the source of the conflict and attempting to resolve every issue related to the conflict and went with the simplest solution.

Did you people seriously turn this fucking thread into an argument
Are you fucking serious right now

You honestly can't be surprised that something as laughable as this "Confederate fursuit" would derail a thread like this? I've said my little piece in here and had my fun, but I don't delude myself into thinking it's anything more than a topic predicated on riffing badly made, taped-together piles of shag carpet. I know you want to see folks keep the peace, but this thread should probably just be left to burn itself out. I think... I think nature wanted this to happen.

Whats so bad about those two? The suits themselves I mean. Those morph type suits are always creepy.

The biggest thing about the diaper one is that matting... It is so hideously matted that I can just image how badly it reeks. Plus it has derp face going on.

Odin's body is great but the face looks like a Chucky Cheese animatronic's. (Not to mention he uses it as a murrsuit and brings it into public, although I think there are two bodies)

This is how furries universally deal with every problem. Doing the easy thing is preferable to doing the right thing because expending effort at anything that isn't masturbation or video games is a total buzzkill, man.

You know this fandom far to well, Zara. LOL!

They're too small and too close together.

Better for vision. If they were to far apart they'd look equally as bad.

The eyes are always the hardest to do.

It does look like it's been through the washer to many times.

And Odin, it doesn't look much like a murrsuit. That and I have seen worse heads with more expensive makers.

Matted fur is just so cringy. :/

Ok , I looked through nasty stuff but wasn't able to find that specific head used for the nasty. I do know his newer suits for sure are though and he does wear those in public so, still nasty. That head in particular though seems off but the whole suit is nicely made.

So he actually wears his murrsuit in public? Why is no nobody stopping him? Or at the very least shaming him.

Yeah. His most recent suit is so gross looking....

Some are but he's one of the more popular murrsuiters, so I dunno. Cons should really ban the sexsuits. :/

NSFW (the pic is towards the bottom, not straight up porn but....) :

http://fuckingfurries.tumblr.com/tagged/odin-wolf

It's one thing if you have sex in a fursuit, it's another if you then bring it places. It is even more disturbing than the nightmare fuel fursuits (hence my distaste).

I have only been to one con, a small one at that, and I never saw anyone in a murrsuit with their penis hanging out or a dildo for that matter. What really erks me though is that it's OK to ban one type of fet gear but it's not OK to ban another; I guess that's because everyone is in on it. Man this culture is really full of double standards sometimes.

I think a dead giveaway of a murrsuit is wearing panties/underwear over the crotch.

^^^Because of that, it annoys me, personally, when regular fursuiters wear underwear or panties over their fursuit, even as a joke.

There was a big group people running around in underwear at AC last year. I ended up cropping a lot of people below the waist in my photographs because of it. I realize the people doing it for a lark aren't murrsuiters, but really folks, let's not give people fodder for rumors or speculation.

On an unrelated note, I also can't stand matted fur. People need to take better care of their fursuits.

So he actually wears his murrsuit in public? Why is no nobody stopping him? Or at the very least shaming him.

Maybe he needs to wear a Confederate flag.

Murrsuits usually have pants or a codpiece covering the sheath. Cons won't ban it as long as the bits are covered because as far as they are concerned, it is a suit with pants.

It's actually isn't, especially since you can only see out of the "pupil".

A friend of mine had a lion fursuit done by Noble wolf and the vision was terrible. He also complained about the vision when he had first tried it on, too. Compared to latin Vixen's heads and vision, they aren't the type to take to a place where there are massive amounts of people.

I'm sure MixedCandy fursuits are well made, but sometimes the faces just look so creepy. Like The Shining creepy...1417471798.latinvixen_laydowndingo.thumb

Why do suiters insist on posting in sexually suggestive ways?

And some people say the Civil War ended over a hundred years ago...

THE SOUTH WILL RISE AGAIN!

Oh I'm sure his "South" was rising while wearing that suit if you catch my drift.....

Whats so bad about those two? The suits themselves I mean. Those morph type suits are always creepy.

Oh hay it's Odinwolf, wondered when he'd be mentioned. Sadly, both him and Koniu lived in the Detroit area (the pink husky moved away I think) but yea.

A while ago a friend of Odin's defended him by saying that he had a private murrsuit and a public murrsuit. So I decided to do some investigating by looking at his murrsuit tumblr and other photos, and sadly see pictures of his dick. But it was for SCIENCE.

He has two fursuit heads, and I can say with confidence I've seen both in the murrsuit photos/videos. Also, he has two body suits, and I have seen pictures where BOTH suits and BOTH heads were at conventions, with him wearing one and a friend wearing the other (ew ew ew....). Usually you could tell which one was the murrsuit one because it would be wearing underwear.
