It feels like all this stuff materialised out of nowhere. I don't really watch TV or anything like that, or radio given my condition. How do these people get famous exactly? They just come and go seemingly arbitrarily. I'd understand if it was some stupid jazz/rock/metal band that spent ages playing in bars and stuff before they got popular, but I just don't get where people like Miley Cyrus or whatever came from. I think people who watch those shows just get caught up in the drama of those people's lives and continue to watch because more bullshit drama keeps happening. It's drama I care nothing for, but some people like that crap. Maybe they also lust after the lifestyle these folks get to live. evan Posted December 26, 2015 Share Posted December 26, 2015 (edited) my sister would watch shows like this, and heres what ive noticed humans tend to want to live a life where they do not feel as though they exist as inferior to others. the tv shows (housewife shows follow this too) tend to reflect people who, to the average viewer, fit word for word the idea of shallow and pretentious. it is a chance to literally feed off of the perceived idiocy of others, to finish an episode and not only be entertained by the over the top behaviour, but feel as though you understand it fully, making you empowered by your intelligence in comparison. alternatively, theres a collective of people who are much less intelligent but equate wealth with happiness, and watch to envy the lives of those who are super rich the third demographic is us, the people who hate it and spout so much shit about them that their name still ends up spreading anyways. it honestly becomes a meme in itself, and some people do watch the show solely to trash it Edited December 26, 2015 by evan Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
