If you have an awesome suit, imma take a snap shot of it, given if I'm allowed to. Yes yes that means actually walking up to the suiter, asking "May I take your photo" and taking your snappyshot as oppossed to the dingleberries that snap a suiters ass then proceed to masturbate to said pics in the hotel restrooms. More likely than naw't (PUN), I will also take said pictures and post them on the internet from time to time, mostly when I can legitimately remember/put in the effort to edit the image in PS and post it up online. And you know, those posts I make will include the handles of the suiters, mainly because I like giving said suiters awareness of where there image is being posted as well as giving them some proper warning that X image is on my account and can be requested to be taken down for whatever reason. Seeing how I don't know any suiters, I'm clueless to half the names of the suits I see. This requires me to do some research to find twitter handles and screen names as well as account exploration to be sure these are the correct people. But god damn, that last part is pretty damn hard, and not because some handles are hard to find, but mainly because of the amount of cringe I gotto dig through. No no no, its not typical furry drama or furry suit posts like "hnnnnng, imma cute puppy, touch me daddy owo", but more along the lines of the shit people do in some of these suits. I've crawled through a ton of photos of these really really really unironically designed photos of some suiters legit acting like a 21 year old blonde bimbo porn star, making lewd poses with suits made for not-lewd conduct. It's fucking creepy and a little pathetic to see people treat some of this art (Suits done well are art in the book of Tosh) in ways it wasn't meant to be treated. I dunno, to me it seems like a real disservice to the maker to treat a normal suit like a fucksuit to flood your feed with pictures of you spreading a suit's non-existant ass cheeks or rub its crotch while said suit has a ":3" expression on. Its fucking creepy shit. But then again, they threw 2.5k+ to have the suit crafted for them, so that does entitle them to do as they please, but fucking-god-damn, chill the fuck out with this pathetic attempt at sexualizing a costume that is in no way sexy. I imagine if the artist (because you're right it is art and I imagine extremely difficult) got paid a pretty penny they wouldn't mind too much to say anything about it and really can they?. But I imagine they look at these pictures and just go "Jesus Christ, sanctity is just lost. I have similar experiences when I sell off character designs. I had this one short character with wide hips and I gave it up to someone. He immediately gave her boobs so massive she could sit on them and I believe he put her in some force feeding expansion situation. 0-"MURR" real fucking quick. LOL Are these actual shots you've gotten or are you exaggerating just a teeeeeny bit? i've seen lots of fursuit photos and i've (luckily) never stumbled onto that. Unless of course the suit was MADE for those sorts of shots or the character is MEANT to be sexy of course. Of those "sexy" shots i've seen, the subjects and poses were in private, not public. i would argue that many of those mildy suggestive shots and awkward poses are for the same reason why Disney characters in parks always cover their mouths awkwardly to half-assedly show surprise. There's not a lot of expression you can show in a people-sized, matted-down, stiff, hot and probably smelly fursuit on demand. if the character is meant to be playful or flirty there's only so many ways the person inside could possibly display that. Sticking their butts (tails) out, showing surprise over the shoulder, giving V signs, dancing, etc. are all simple ways to show some kind of emotion. if you take a lot of photos, you've probably seen the whole gambit of them. So unless your subject is lying on the floor, spread eagle with shocker hands, i would guess that they're just trying, albeit at times too hard. Over the years I've seen people take non-sexual fursuits that they bought and alter them to be sexual. The additions of things like a shiny blue dildo sticking out of the ripped crotch of a suit that otherwise has all the raw sexuality of a cereal mascot is kind of jarring and weird. Some people (and some fursuits) can pull it off, and some absolutely can't. Know thyself. Obviously, people should also be thinking about the impression they want to create of themselves and of the fandom long-term. Many charities, professional organizations, and any group that works with kids, the disabled, or the elderly will flat-out not hire you if they find photos of you posing erotically, waving around sex toys, or giving the camera the middle finger.
