You know, I'm thinking of changing up my fursona's personality a little. I'm thinking of making him a little bit happier, and more into dressing up and such since I love drawing him in various outfits. Of course, his main backstory will stay the same, but having a perpetually sad character is kinda boring after a while.

Ah well, I'll still probably get into a shit-tier university somewhere in the country. :V

I suppose it could be said that you made the proverbial shit list.

Sounds like a plan. Always nice to have your fursona evolve, and being perpetually sad can become monotonous, not to mention, not very fun. Good luck, here!

Here: Hoping this heat wave ends. Didn't leave the apartment today; this is starting to give me cabin fever. But the city is hot, muggy, smoggy, and smelly, and all in all, not the most pleasant right now...temp has not gone below 86 at night, daytime heat index maybe 110???? Enough, enough, enough. I must save money to flee this God-forsaken oven. I did not think Maryland would be this hot...it's as bad as the south.

Chin up, man! If Boris Johnson can be taken seriously, you can certainly pull through and get into a decent university!

Every exam diet gets shitty. Unless you're doing cake decorating.

(To clarify: yes, my high school offered that as a subject.)

Best of luck.

Being dragged off again for a week when I want to draw stuff. I do hope there is at least a 3G (preferably 4G) connection when get there and preferably someone who does anthro art like me. The chances of finding someone who is a furry for me to discuss more openly about my art is very remote though..

Pff. Maybe, but this felt different compared to every other time I've taken exams. As in, the post-exam feeling.

But yeah, blah.

Oh god, my sister's room mate just asked if I was a furry when he saw me drawing Tribble. I was prepared for the worst, but thankfully he said he was a furfag too.

Uh... How long will it take for him to ask about "the stash"?

eh. there's correlation but usually if you break down the specifics of the school you're interested in, even bad test scores can't necessarily stop you from going to a school that can offer what you want

No, noooooo, NNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Some idiot turned the switch back on and I didn't get the temp alarm due to the shitty reception in my place. (No, Verizon, I can't hear you now, stucco screen makes a great Faraday cage.)

I now have an e-mail warning that the switch overheated and sustained damage.

I'm going to kill whomever turned that switch back on, if HR doesn't fire them first!

Thankfully I can re-route the VOIP/MPLS over to the top switch, there's plenty of unused ports despite everything having a cable connected.

Turned on a fanless switch...

Well, not fanless, but likely the power headers have now been fucked due to the switched-up wiring. Now, only one person has access to that closet, so odds are she didn't lock it up after I left, but I know she wouldn't touch anything in that closet, she's totally helpless and had me build her new desk for her when I didn't have anything else to do (waiting on direct line from trunk to building to get installed.) That means someone else popped in, turned the switch back on so the phone system would work, and didn't bother thinking about why said switch would be turned off.

I want to know who the hell is there on a weekend, when they are not open on weekends.

Is any of the damaged equipment repairable? Then again it may be easier to find new replacements rather than opening things and replacing each bust cap and the like.

Wait what happened in Milwaukee?

(I feel like despite reading articles, I'm missing something and I probably am considering most are major news outlets and sensationalist indie sites.)

Some cop shot a black guy and people responded by setting their city ablaze. Fucking idiots, riots only make things worse.

Exactly five seconds after I found out Robin Williams had killed himself I posted a joke on another forum:

What do you call a dead guy with a plastic bag over his head?

Robin Williams.

Too soon?

Everyone said it was too soon and I almost got banned.

Also said guy had a weapon and was told to drop it, he did not, and ran. So even if he didn't die he'd still have gone to jail.

Pretty sure Amanda Todd's mother is threatening to sue because of that fake poster.

I found it interesting. Though the name of both the muscled guy and the painted guy elude me.

I've no idea why I find it funny.

For whom? Riots frequently do work out for those rioting.

For example, Roman plebeians got their first representation in government when they rioted and then totally abandoned the city in a secessio plebis. After wrecking the city and leaving it, the patricians pretty much had to concede.

Europe has a tradition of riots resulting in things like that, and that tradition was exported to the colonies. Riots in the UK's colonies from 1710 forward - especially after the Seven Years War - may sound familiar to those who have studied the persons inspired by those riots. Riots in Spanish colonies from then into the early 1800s may be familiar to others.

Saying 'riots only make things worse' as a person living in any democracy of the West after 1848 is like any person working in Standard Oil saying 'oil don't sell.' The idea that riots don't work may be a result of a modern interpretation of the U.S. Civil Rights Movement as a largely nonviolent affair when nonviolence was only a small part of a century-long effort to counter the racist laws that were themselves largely the result of white riots.

Have to log in to a new device with my old domain account. I'm on a special network for this project, so I haven't had to use it. When did my password expire? October 13th 2010  XD

EDIT: Device (Fresh from the IS team) says "This copy of Windows is not genuine."

I still have my 'Certificate of Authenticity' for Windows 95 tacked up by my desk at work. They don't make certificates that pretty anymore! It looks like currency, almost.

Not even sure what version of Windows the University is using. I think it's still 7...yep, it's 7. I've used 8, but that had such a weird aesthetic to it, like it was designed by Fisher-Price.

Generally the University lags a bit between the latest version, and what's used 'officially' on campus.

For shame, using a pirated copy of windows? You're so evil!

Was lying in bed last night, reading a magazine, felt something crawling on my leg. A jumper spider the size of a dime. About 1/2-3/4" long. Or so.
Had I been one of those people who fear those I'd either be dead right now or embedded in the ceiling, but I brushed him off into my pants, and then had to shake the pants to get him out of those. I then escorted him out of the room.

We're supposed to get the remains of that storm that flooded Louisiana last weekend tonight. Oh joy.

Cop shoots black person. Cop may have had justifiable reason because said black person had gun. City riots anyway because stupid people be stupid. Rioting may also be due to unrelated grievances as well and shooting was tipping point. Still stupid as hell.

BLACK COP shoots BLACK FELON who is in possession of a STOLEN FIREARM, just to set the record a bit straighter.

Felon because he had previous convictions or because he had committed a crime at that moment?
In any case none of that should matter, what matters is if he's a danger to the police or others at that moment.

Actually, it should matter. And he is a prior felon by conviction. That means unless he had his right to possess firearms restored after fulfilling his sentence, he had no legal right to possess that firearm. That escalates him to 'armed and dangerous' as opposed to just 'armed' status. That provides justification for escalated usage of force, per the excessive force rulings made in the twelve (thirteen?) circuit courts across the country.

It matters in whether or not it's legal for him to carry the gun, but not in whether or not the officer had a right to shoot him. Only whether or not he's a danger to his surroundings does it matter.

I hear way too many conservative pundits smear the dead person by saying things like "Why is BLM defending him? He was a thug. He was a criminal. He had a criminal record. He had just committed a crime. He was resisting arrest." As if any of those (except maybe the last one if he's using a weapon to resist) have any bearing on whether he should have been shot. By saying all of those the right wing pundts are showing that they see the shooting victim as less than human. To them it's black and white thinking, conservative christian thinking, law and order thinking. Those who are in the process of committing a crime are not human and do not deserve rights. Those who have committed crimes in the past are not human and do not deserve rights. They are scum, they are evil. There is no "innocent until proven guilty", and in some cases the crime being committed is minor, like selling cigarettes or cds or something.

Sadly too many of these parents have blinders on... they still think their teen/adult children who may be involved in gangs, violence, or crime are still the 10 year old babies they raised years ago, and seem to be oblivious to the wrong things they are doing. No wonder the kids might be doing bad things, the parents aren't smacking some sense into them when they do wrong.
