Another article about furries

I'm just going to leave this here with little comment for your enjoyment. It's not even fun anymore, most media depictions of furries aren't even amusingly negative anymore.

Which is pretty much what this article is about. A guy who did a documentary on furries who said the leader of the furries was too overprotective.

....wait, we have a leader? Oh, he's talking about Kage. Okay then.

Anyone who didn't know Kage was some sniveling stab-from-the-shadows type of asshole by now deserves the shock.

"Waaaaahhhh I didn't get ANY editorial say FUCK YOU BANNED FROM ANTHROCON>"

Kage is nothing more than a 50-year old manchild.

So he's a perfect leader, then.

What an odd reading list....

Summary: Kage does Kage things people get bant. I get that clickbait titles are just the thing these days but this article is so strange on that spectrum. It name drops a person I had never heard of referred to by name until now and then doesn't really link its arguments back to that statement in any meaningful way, it also name drops the documentary more times go figure. Barely an "expose" as there is a whole ton of shit they missed and is basically just the "trials and tribulations" of some documentary makers who should have done more research on their targets during the early stages /shrug.

I actually read a review (like from an actual movie critic who isn't an overdefensive furfag) about his movie and from what I've heard he gets some revenge on ol' Kagey boy.

Namely in that he effectively portrays him as an asshole who becomes increasingly unhinged throughout the course of the movie, namely in him justifying attacks on people because he knows better.

So yeah, seems pretty accurate to me.

Oh look, another slanderous article that puts the fandom soly in the light of being depraved.

Big. Fucking. Surprise.

With all of these overly sexualized articles about the fandom I'm starting to think I'm the only one that doesn't jack it to anthro porn or a man in an animal suit.

You say that, but try starting a round-robin style story game on this forum and count how many posts it is before you see the words 'Dildo', 'Cum', 'Butt Sex' or similar and I bet you won't even run out of fingers.

I don't believe that furries are any more or less depraved as a whole than any other group you'd find.

Difference is for the most part we're just a lot less subtle about it and in many cases a lot less ashamed. Of course that's going to send a negative image to all the other groups desperately trying to appear like they're not thinking almost the same thing.

>> Another person claiming that you would die from heatstroke if you had sex in a fursuit.

There are hours and hours of video evidence proving you guys wrong.

I didn't find the main story of the article very interesting. Yes I think that a lot of furries play dumb in order to present a desirable image to the outside world and that this is moot because the rest of the world sees straight through them anyway. However, I don't think making off-the-cuff remarks that people you don't like are 'bitches', makes someone 'abusive'; I think that the author was forced to resort to that because the actual story; that lots of furries have a curmudgeonly attitude towards journalists, is pretty dull.

...and to conclude...why does anybody make furry documentaries anyway? We're all over the internet and already publish lots of content about what we do; it would almost be surprising if somebody could spend time on the internet and not manage to come across the furries.

Our depravity is cute and fun. C:

I wonder how you can do so well in your studies when you consistently prove that you can't read for shit.

Defamation of character != legal criticism. If only you had a brain for legal matters, or any actual education about the world outside the UK, you'd see that shit doesn't always follow your train of thought.

Even if you dislike Kage, comparing him to David Miscavige is utterly ridiculous. It reeks of the author trying to be an edgy show-off, and it demonstrates their gross ignorance of how the furry fandom actually works.

The whole article just comes across as pot-stirring.

That said, I am extremely keen to see this documentary, and I think Video Rodriguez has done some nice interviews thus far.

I'm not surprised that chemists swear, to be honest.

Because the furry fandom really carries the same standards or expectations as the FDA.

Fucking lol.

Kage also drinks a fair amount, in addition to swearing up a blue streak at times.

But, different fields have different standards of professionalism, especially as you rise in the ranks. I've found that scientific researchers are much less likely to care about stuff that won't interfere with your actual work, for example. The came could be said for computer programmers and engineers as well.

The denial and subterfuge can only last so long. The real world will soon know all the horrible things a you people do in room parties behind closed doors. Kage just wants to perpetuate his ability to get young boys drunk enough to convince them he's cool and take him back to his room or something :V

I enjoy the little circle jerk on page one about how "I"m not a freak who masturbates to furry porn or makes sexual jokes!"

Maybe if you dorks actually had friends and talked to real people in a context that wasn't professional you'd realize that real humans make dick and butt jokes all the time and in general engage in lewd humor.

Also lmao @ thinking normies care about your masturbatory habits but wouldn't find the idea of a grown adult with a non-sexual fixation on talking animals weird.

I've only heard of Kage and don't really know much about him other than he's the big kahuna of the fandom. I did not realize he was such a dweeb. "If you embarrass the furry community, you’ll pay." What is he, the don? lmao

I should've known he was a douche from the fact he banned Prawst from AC over some videos he uploaded on Youtube.

Haha, back when I was still drinking I had this plan to start a convention and have a panel called "brother Ricky's drunk story hour" where I'd get plastered then "somehow" still manage to be more interesting than Kage :V

I'll still do that, but on GHB... Or rather, 1,4-butanediol - it's the same thing but legal (the cops here hate me lol). Just not alcohol since I tend to have problems with it. That's my *one* problem substance, interestingly enough.

Yeah, it's kind of amazing how seriously he treats this shit.

I mean granted, in some ways his job does kinda depends on it (running Anthrocon and everything) seeing as he kind of relies on the massive amount of goodwill he's developed from Philly. But like...lmao

So you're from Baltimore? ;) It's still a big problem here, but now it's pretty much in every small town, so that takes some of the heat off our bad reputation.

As for Uncle Kage: I've heard the name over the years, but have no idea why people revere him to such an extent. So he runs a big furry con. Over time, AC, though large, is just one of many other large cons; Midwest FurFest (5,636), BLFC(3,651), and others will continue to grow, and people will be less hung up on this one big, mega-con that increasingly looks like an over-blown, Disnified, vanilla, popularity contest. Furs I've known have said it's become increasingly boring. I've pondered going, but would rather go to any number of smaller cons. I had more fun at our local con of about 1,000 (Fur-the-'More), than I think I would have there. Someday, I'll go to AC; Pittsburgh is not even very far. (Though I wish it was in Philly) But it's not like I'm gonna look at like it like a pilgrimage to Furry Mecca.
