I'm going to vote for Trump so he will build a wall... on the Canadian border!

Keep all you filthy Canuck commies out of our great land of freedom and eagles!

I've already desecrated your country with my presence and eaten your best chicken wings.

When I left your country I said this to the border guards:

Well that was both sad and wonderful.

On FB, I saw someone share a gif of a bunch of people's selfies. Young people. Many of them very fit males. Kinda gay looking. The gif flipped through them all. Then I realized who the selfies were of. Yep. Certain Orlando residents.

Then pictures of Muslims in gay pride parades, wearing rainbow flags. Some muslim lesbian and gay couples. People with "Proud Trans Muslim" signs. "Proud to be Muslim and Queer." ect ect. So, LGBT Muslims.

Producing art does not alleviate stress, you guys; it heightens it.

When you have ideas... images... feelings you want to get down on paper.... I think it would be more relieving to get those on paper.

Then again if you're nitpicking about every single detail and the image on paper is not quite the image in your head I can see how that's a problem.

Also, Kosha, I read your story on your FA profile and I have a serious problem with it........

I came to this video looking for the moment the interviewer asked an insensitive question in order to invoke tears to roll, but they ended up cutting it out and just put the part where she breaks into tears. (How convenient)

Then I take a look at the comments...

That one task, the one that was dropped from the last build due to requirement changes, has had even more requirements added half-a-week after to code was supposed to be frozen for testing. Nevermind that the either means by which data is acquired changed on the freeze date and now has changed again. The new requirement was added on that day, too, but I was only made aware of it today. I can't even stay late to work on it, because of after-hours monitoring! It's going to be ptobably a week behind, which is going to reduce the time available to test this entirely new workflow.

The wheels on the task train have long since flown off, it has derailed in midtown, and is coasting along the pavement in violation of all known laws of physics while its condutor flips off Sir Isaac Newton.

It's dumb copypasta, it's not supposed to make sense.

Never, EVER read the comments. Unless you want to laugh and eat popcorn at the stupidity.

Thoughts:
A) was it actually a "gun free zone?" Was it established that it was? Even so, private establishment, can make their own rules, and it's a bar, and I can understand the idea of not allowing guns and alcohol.
B) The security guard was armed and even shot back at the shooter. People still died. Armed citizens can't prevent everything.
C) The shooter snuck in a back door. Did not go in through the main door.

I am surprised this was not already the case. Finally all political factions agree on something, though.

A republican senator brought up that there's people on the watch list that might not be terrorists and it violates due process.
Then fix the damn list, you idiot.

Your choice is a business-bought crook currently subject to a criminal investigation or a madman who will insist he's defending and restoring the Constitution as he blatantly violates it.  But if you don't vote, you can't complain.

I remember reading an article once about a baby being on the no-fly list because it shared their name with someone on the terror watch list.

I haven't found verification yet, though, but it wouldn't surprise me if our government had the double whammy of 'putting the wrong people on the list and leaving the dangerous ones off of it' and 'not forbidding the ones on the list to purchase weapons or destructive materials'

The scheduled a demo tomorrow for the front-end aspect of thing I am tasked with developing the back-end of. D:

You know, that task. The task I still haven't gotten new credentials for the import connection for. The task the 3rd party is now having issues setting for our fourth change in how we retrieve data from them. The task I identified ANOTHER hole in the requirements left to me by the original dev who quit.

This morning a Canadian Geese flock was in the middle of the road I was trying to travel down. Most of them started moving either way when I slowly approached, but one brave one walked towards me, hissing and honking.

So I honked back.

Bitch was running away as fast as his flat feet could take him.
Moral? Don't mess with something larger and louder than you.

Also, on the next 2 lane road I had some bitch in an SUV literally driving down my tailpipe while I was doing 55mph, which is why I hate morning rush hour and wish they would all die in a nuclear fire.

I can't wait for the big update for Linux Mint to come out. It looks nice.

Hello fellow nerd. It does look pretty sweet, mint has come a long way since its first release. Carry a USB stick with you and install it on every computer you can, like some sort of open source vigilante.

My dad gave me an old mantle clock he picked up at a boot sale a while back, and I put it on the bookshelf and have been messing with it. As far as I can figure, it dates to the 1920s or 1930s, and features a German-made Franz Hermle movement in an English-made case. It's an eight-day clock (meaning it runs for eight days on one winding) and has Westminster quarter chimes (same melody as Big Ben). Absolute pain in the ass to get running right though -- as it uses a free pendulum, it needs to be leveled and balanced properly, and the pendulum itself currently needs adjusting as it runs a bit too fast. By comparison, most modern reproductions use a floating balance mechanism which is a lot less demanding.

Still a nice clock though, with very pleasant chimes.

The Ruskin school of Art show is starting soon and the students are posting their pieces to facebook, to entice potential visitors.

One of the entrants is this:

That's right...this art student's project, topping off their 3 years of training...is a screenshot of a desk top background.

Yeah, you know I can take a screenshot of my desktop and call it art too, watch:

I already commented to say I thought that I thought it was terrible, and the comment was duly deleted.

If anybody else wants to comment on any of the pieces, here's the page: https://www.facebook.com/ruskindegreeshow/?fref=nf

I found the Facebook post on the page and went to the artist's website. Their work is full of stuff that takes minimal effort to create, and worst of all, I found a typo in one of their captions. 0/10.

That being said, some of the other work shown on that page is super impressive and actually looks as though it took time to create.

9am demo. They told me it was front-end stuff. First thing they did was ask me to demo all my back-end stuff. DX

I froze and feigned having trouble hearing what they said (tbf, a 4-way conference call gets really muddy and all of us had actual trouble hearing at parts.)

Thankfully, on repeating they also chose their words differently and asked me to TALK them through what I was doing. It was rough, but it sounds like they were satisfied with it. Even got to showcase my proactive resolution of that requirement gap I identifed yesterday :D

So Meatloaf collapsed on stage, still continued singing (people say it's the backing vocals but it sounds exactly the same) and his audience didn't seem to realize it was real... "Is... is this an act?" Oh I dunno, he collapsed, the music stopped, and a bunch of personal rushed to the stage to aid him. Hmm I wonder!

Also why does video look like it was recorded with a 90s camcorder?

(Yes, I'm in a bad mood today)

You know you're a huge fangirl when you get so excited about buying merchandise you forget to pick your wallet up after paying and leave it in the store.

I went to the gas station. I opened the gas cap and looked at the numbers at the pump and they were not moving.

I looked down and I was trying to stick my wallet directly into the gas tank.

That's how expensive gas is.
