I actually value my privacy, and Windows 10 gives the government complete control over your computer. No, you're not. I'm still using Windows 7 and I'll be using it for as long as it's supported by the Microsotf/for as long as the newest versions of graphic editors (Photoshop, Illustrator) are being released on/for it.Reasons being much simplier than privacy. First, Windows 7 using less resources than newer operating systems. Second, that I'm used to it and it's UI. Every change is a pain in the ass. AshleyAshes
Windows 10 gives the government complete control over your computer.Windows 10 does not give the government control of your computer. Believe it or not, OTHER SOVERIGN NATIONS would take issue with the OS's ability to allow the United States Government to entirely control windows PCs. If what you said was at all true, the OS would be literally be banished from sale from nearly all western nations and Microsoft would be going 'Uhh... Shit... We only make money if people buy our stuff. :O'. Reasons being much simplier than privacy. First, Windows 7 using less resources than newer operating systems. Second, that I'm used to it and it's UI. Every change is a pain in the ass.Actually, Windows 10 uses less resources than any of it's predecessors. It's actually widely regarded as doing some wonderful things for older computers, to such a degree in fact, that hardware companies are concerned that software upgrades to Windows 10 on older machines will slow purchases of new machines. However, as I have it installed on my laptop, I certainly do have to say that it's still teething. It's not terrible but it'll certainly be nicer in about six months.

Wolflich
10 wasn't too bad for the short time I tried it. Ultimately if they didn't force updates I probably would still be using it (with as much of the data collection stuff turned off as possible). Some parts other than that did bother me though, like the way it defaults to sharing updates online without any attempt to notify users during installation and the fact that there are just needlessly two different control panels that aren't even clones but actually contain different settings. It's like as much as they have to trim it off they just can't let metro go.

There's three updates that add telemetry to all supported versions of windows and if you know enough they can be removed easily, with a few fiddles to the registry and services you can also disable windows 10 from automatically updating. There's also options to be able to turn off ad-profiling. Which is the entire point of all this telemetry in the first place, they're making ad profiles to sell and make money off of the system that way.A lot of people tend to hype these issues up a lot more than they should, and make problems that are easily fixed seem a little too severe. The updates that add telemetry are as follows: 1. KB3068708 2. KB3022345 3. KB3075249 4. KB3080149if you want to remove them it's simple enough, http://windows.microsoft.com/en-ca/windows/remove-update#1TC=windows-7 to my knowledge the process for win 8.1 isn't much different either. The easiest way to disable windows 10 automatic updates is to hit start, type in services, find the Windows Update service and set it to disabled.

My usual store had literally one type that was still compatible. The real issue is that while the early AMD APUs were great, they discontinued everything on their 'FM1' socket within 18 months. So sourcing a replacement motherboard off the used market for a less common socket would have taken a couple of weeks. I also had the Sandy Bridge mobo, and it wouldn't have been too hard to source a CPU for it off the used market but it still would have taken shipping time. My server serves as my source of media, it handles all the downloads, sorting, and serves the data to the HTPC clients. I basically have no TV without it, so I shelled out the coin for a new CPU and Mobo to get it going ASAP.
Wolflich
Don't have much experience with AMD CPUs personally. APUs are what they call the ones with some inbuilt graphics capacity? I'd like to buy from them because they always seem to turn up high on price/performance ratings but so many things I do (i.e. so many games) still deal better with strong single-core performance so I just end up throwing an extra hundred or two at Intel products. It was great at the time, though later a Radeon HD 6850 discrete GPU got hand-me-downed to the machine so it was disabled. I think APUs are nice for laptops and can make good low end gaming machines. At the time it was a pretty cheaply bought server with low end gaming features, which made it suitable for a HTPC that later started running Steam. Vaer
A laptop with 'Dual HDD Support' in it that has four different hard drives? And your RAM only lists 'up to 32GB'. I think you just listed the potential specs for a range of similar SKUs of the same core model of laptop. Leave it to me to fuck up Copy&Pasting. =~=Storage:Interface Serial ATA-300Optical Drive DVD±RW (±R DL)Memory:Max Supported Size 32 GBTechnology DDR3L SDRAMSpeed 1600 MHzForm Factor SO DIMM 204-pinSlots Qty 4Empty Slots 1RAM:Memory Speed 1600 MHzConfiguration Features 3 x 4 GB
