I don't get the obsession with trying to make yourself an icon/symbol in this fandom. I can sort of understand if you're trying to make money selling shit in the fandom, but just being a character everyone HAS to talk about/love/wanna be friends with? Come on! That's totally lame >:[ It's something that has confused me to no end and is something I'll never ever understand. If anything, the thought of having a mindless wave of zombies follow me around to touch my booty doesn't sound all that appealing, considering I don't have a necro fetish. THOUGH I CAN SAY BEING THE CENTER SPOTLIGHT ALL THE TIME SOUNDS NICE, but honestly? Why the fuck should you try so hard for something like that? It's just gross and it makes you really super duper lame to people who have common sense. Just make a nice group of friends, settle down, enjoy yourself. Not every convention you go to should be flooded with people who want to actively obsess over you and you shouldn't be trying to have YOU be the center of every conversation like some meme. Sheesh, have some standards! Like some Toshabi standards. That Ego seriously just makes you come off as a tool to your friends. Head inflation is the worst kind of inflation. But then again, it's something easy for me to not wanna aspire to, considering I'm the least popular pokemon in the whole pokedex right under dunsparce. I have an FA watcher base that is over 1000 people, I halp run the Sharks-of-FA page, and people seem to really like the porn I upload. I don't really see it as me being popular, I mainly just see it as a large group of people that I could potentially be friends with sometime down the road. They straight up told me over skype that they're trying their hardest to be popular in the furry fandom and what not. This ain't about people who just straight up became popular just by being who they are. This is someone who seemingly shifted their entire way of posting/talking/communicating JUST so they can get some attention. Also, they a long standing friend who I'd rather keep him from getting too lost in furfaggotry. I've straight up told em that they're being a dipshit, but yah, I'm working on some form of reform for em before they're too lost. Edit: Like this is to the point where they OBSESS over follower count, views and of enough people liked what they said. The idea scares me, having people watch your every move and judge you based on either your likes or dislikes. Them being harsh and criticizing your fetishes and kinks, monitoring your journals and personality for flaws. I'm extremely happy with my small handful of close furry friends that I can talk about cartoons and art with.
