Things that you hate! v2

That is sadly the answer you'll get from almost everyone. Even if their religion is like "read, seek knowledge. Extoll the creator by unraveling the mysteries his creations".

I believe it's really the person, some people don't think because they were never asked to and assumed it wasn't important, and some people don't think by active choice.

I find it important to do such things, because if nothing else they help illuminate different aspects of you.

Yeah, and some people just don't want to bother with existential crisis. I don't even know I want to again.

Oh how I envy the willfully, blissfully ignorant, sometimes. It'd make things so much easier.

There's always an open spot in Europe! With our socialist healthcare, high taxes, and beautiful green nature and occasional frostbite in the summer!

But I'm a poor student.

(Never mind the fact I can speak in a semi-decent Scottish accent and spell like literally any other country in the world)

I can't stand needlessly rude people.

In this forum, for example, sometimes I see people innocently poking fun at something , only to get shut down by a grumpy pants going "You stupid shitposter, say something constructive", in a thread meant for fun to begin with, completely ruining the playful mood.

Lighten up, will you?

Since we are on the topic of films and the crap we hate in films I have a big axe to grind with films since The Blair Witch Project: Not using dollies, tripods and other stabilizers to hold the cameras whilst they film. All too often filmmakers think that because that flash in the pan, piece of garbage film The Blair Witch Project was so popular, that people want to see a camera bobbing, shaking and wiggling all over. I think it looks sloppy, unrefined and it even sometimes gives me a headache to watch..(It is like reading or texting whilst riding in a car.)

You do know that the whole premise of that movie was "Live film" which would pretty much preclude the use of gimbals, tripods/monopods/bipods, and other stabilizers, right?

Well yes of course. It was meant to look like a "home movie." but when I am watching something that is meant to be a horror movie that is not trying to look like a home movie, it looks like the filmmaker is trying too hard to make overtures or nods to that waste of time movie.

All that being said: In the end of the day it still looks sloppy.

So, this Thursday I got back my first university offer. It was AAA, to do Computer Science at Warwick.
And I wanna get to this place.
So, to maximise my chances of getting those grades, I'll be retaking 4 exams this year, on top of the 5 I'm already scheduled to take, to scrape myself as many marks as I can.

And I can't work on everything all at once. I just wanna live in a noiseless box where I can work and work and work until everything is perfect. And it's actually really kinda stressful. I'm definitely more irritable than I used to be.

...this really uncomfortable and iffy memory in my mind lately

I havent been physically hurt by particular people much, but there had been some occassions. I used to be pinched or have my hair pulled or shoved more. I didnt get them much, but I remember getting a few minor bruises. It hurt, mostly that I got them from being treated that way than the very minor injuries itself. I once took pictures of them on my phone, I dont know why...maybe young me felt I could make a case on it.At the time I didnt have a lock phone and my pictures got looked through. I actually got laughed and scoffed at "Oh? You really think you're abused? What are you gonna do report it?" I was embarrassed and uncomfortable, but I guess it worked because I havent had issues with being pushed around since.

Oh man, I go to that uni and it's such a gorgeous campus. Haven't really had the time to visit Coventry yet though but that's OK, maybe just before we break up for Christmas... I do miss just going out mindlessly shopping though.

OK.

I. Just. Got. Over. The. Freshers'. Flu. WHY do I have another bout of common cold-like symptoms IMMEDIATELY afterwards? This fucking sucks!

Oh hey, that's a pretty neat coincidence!
I got the impression from the talk on the open day that you get worked solidly, really really hard, to get a First Class Degree. I applied to Birmingham and Nottingham too, but this was the only university that kinda intimidated me with extensive use of the word 'elite' and so forth.

On the course you're doing, is it the case that they shoved you into it head first and expected you to perform well?

Waking up in the middle of sleep cause something ran across your face or chest and then feel it move again as if it was sitting on yous being still.
After freaking out and checking you wind a huge wolf-spider or cockroach was on you.

Sleep that night is now impossible as now you are wide awake and checking all the room for more.

Huh, I never knew some universities did that =/ I always got the impression that (or, this was the case for my undergrad at Exeter) they gave you the lectures and the tutorials and stuff, and if you don't do the work, "on your head be it". No one made me study for a 1st, it was my need to get one to apply for medicine that drove me. So I worked myself solidly enough to do that.

When you get there you'll work it all out for yourself, but they do like to scare you at first. You can end up thinking you need to do an awful lot more work than you need to sometimes, but the more you go through it, the more you'll know what you do and don't need to do. I'll ask my cousin though, because she also went here and she also got a 1st, but I don't know how hard they worked her. Again, I think she worked herself to the 1st.

I'm doing medicine though, so it's WAY more full-on than the other degrees. So many more lectures, so many more tutorials/seminars and stuff. But everyone here is here because they already proved themself to work hard and be capable of it, and everyone here WANTS to work hard anyway.

Hey, thanks for that.

The reason I was asking really is because my older brother just started his Physics degree at Manchester, which he needed A*A*A for, and he was telling me how intense it all was. Just a couple of days after arriving, they gave everyone a maths assessment to sit and he was finding it hard to keep up with the rate of teaching. The jump between A-Level and university, and the fact that he's never been in an environment with so many agonisingly intelligent people was quite hard to acclimatise to. He's pretty competitive, see.

But you know. If I can work at a pace that suits me and come out with a good degree at the end of it, that would be rad. And hey, here's hoping I can have a great time.

I honestly thought that university was a step down from A-level. That's because probably, because I just didn't get along with A-levels at all well for some reason. I prefer the independent study at university. And then in the first year of most degrees you only need to pass, that eases you into things. And the contact hours (for my undergrad anyway) got less and less with each year. By the 2nd term of the 3rd year, I had 4 contact hours a week and the rest of the time was for studying.

But everyone's different, though.

You know what really pisses me off? When a guy won't take no for an answer. Or "fuck off", for that matter, after about 10 "no"s.

This guy who was trying to get some last night, OH MY GOD. What the fuck.Everything about my words and my body language said "this girl is not interested, go bother someone else". I just completely stonewalled him but he just kept on and on and on for about 45 fucking minutes. So because I know I'm ugly but he said I wasn't, I'm supposed to do something with him? I don't know, I don't know how these rules work. I escaped to the bathroom and loitered there for a while just to get rid of him but not long after I came out, there he was again.......... >.< I could NOT have made any more of an effort to be any more of an undesirable person to him. The only other thing I could've done to put him off would've been punching someone at this point.

He asked if I wanted his number at the end of the night.

"No, leave me alone."

"Are you sure? So if I go away now, you won't wish you'd gotten my number?"

"Absolutely, 1,000,000% sure. Now go away."

And then he gave his number to my flatmate to give to me.

Take his number, and register it to a bunch of those "send me free offers and deals" things.
So he gets a bunch of annoying spam shit.

OnT: I need to get food, but I feel like shit.
And I can't deal with crowds today.
Everything's tense. My ribs feel like they're going to explode.

But I have almost nothing.

Well fuck.

I've got kinda bad period cramps right now.

This is really worrying, because I'm on the contraceptive pill entirely to stop that happening, and it's worked a dream for the last 5 years... And even over the last 6 or 7 months that I've been on Yasmin instead of Microgynon 30, they were still fine. I haven't missed any this month but, yep...... cramps.

Some people are like that.

And for the last time, YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL. STOP CALLING YOUR SELF UGLY. IT BOTHERS ME.

My dumb dogs are fighting over a toy that I literally bought several months ago. All of a sudden they both really want it when neither have wanted it this WHOLE TIME.

Does that mean we're just like animals? Because that would be a fairly accurate description.

Also I hate having to resort to some type of crutch just to feel good.
