As for getting an image from our point of view you can't just use any camera and take pictures. There are other methods of examining and documenting it.

If we went to the planet now, it could be completely destroyed or have a small chance of having life on land or life growing underwater. Or it could be the exact same as it was millions of years ago.

If there was intelligent life on the planet and they saw earth, they would most likely not see humans at all but here we are. They could be thinking about us the same way we think about them. 

The point I'm making is nobody knows what's really over there. You're right but I'm still not wrong. There is no confirmation of life outside of earth but there is loads of evidence that show that there is a high chance that there is. 

If you still think it's made up sure go ahead and say I'm wrong. I know it sounds crazy and unrealistic so I can't blame you for thinking that way.

So on the internet it's difficult to tell when somebody is trying to illustrate a point by using fiction and when they are sincerely making very strange claims.

Yesterday I missed.... absolutely nothing! I was completely correct in my assessment; it was the perfect day to take off work.

Ah and what a wonderful day it was! Enjoyable chit-chat, progress on 3D, and fun on the forum!

 

The system indicates I have 8, err well 7 now, available sick days and 13 vacation days.

Nice.

I have 25 vacation days and 21 sick days remaining. That probably speaks volumes about my social life, or lack thereof. There never seems to be a good time to take a break. I'd almost certainly miss things, and our users wouldn't be happy.

Do you know what the most depressing thing is? I always fantasised about an asteroid landing and its discoverers finding fossil evidence of life inside it.

The most likely source for such an asteroid would be a bit of excised Earth debris ripped off in a previous collision. :c

There probably are asteroids with fossil earth clams floating about up there.

 

Wouldn't a collision of sufficient energy to remove a portion of the crust from the atmosphere also disrupt any large bodies in the matrix? What are the odds of something clam sized actually surviving such an event?

Wow! XD Seriously, though, you really do need to make some time for yourself. It's not good for your health to keep working all that time.

I have trouble setting aside time for vacations and the only time I seem to use them is for family trips (which are generally rare.) I'm thinking cons would make a good target to build little vacations around, but I need to get off my butt and research some to attend, figure out how to get set up to go, etc. Most of all though, I should try to find people I know (or get to know) who are going to cons to meet up with so I can actually have some fun on these 'vacontions.' You and I are kind of in the same boat in that respect. :P

If you're familiar with pallasite textures, they represent the boundary between embryonic planet's mantles, made of green olivine crystals, and their cores, made of nickle-iron alloys.

These meteorites are available to us, because lots of embryonic planets were blown to pieces by large impacts early in the solar system's history.

 

The individual crystals and the texture has survived inter-planetary impacts. So there are probably earth-rocks with fossils in them out there.

Crystal composition and texture gives away their formative conditions.

Plus there are meteorites on Earth that came from Mars, some of which are cumulates with consistent radiometric ages, showing they were not remelted by impact.

Most crystals take an inordinate amount of time to form and require a lot of constant pressure. An impact is more likely to eradicate the crystal than to form one.

6tails is right; flash-freezing molten rock produces glass, instead of well formed crystals.

Great day at the comic con. I'll be picking up some new ears and tails. 

I'll have my possum ears ready on Saturday. 

I'm also getting some more cat ears. 

They also started making Sergal ears and tails. They had a nice red set and a blue set. I'm still not sure if I'm going to pick up a set. 

Also talked about making my Bass cosplay. Good times.

Goddamn. Dragon's Crown is a dope ass game. I forgot I had this. I've just been fiending on it tonight. Haven't played it in two years but I just suddenly wanted a game where I can get treasure and stuff (I'm simple like that). Sure wish it was on PC though because I do NOT want to pay for no fucking PSN just to play online. Still I like playing it on my Vita. Feels nice.
