maybe kill la kill or gurren lagann

I think I said it in a later post, but I watched Kill la Kill already. Though I've been meaning to finish Gurren Lagann since my otaku friend never shuts up about me not having finished it...as if I'm a huge anime fan in the first place. :l

But it seems cool. I'm just astonishingly lazy when it comes to actually watching any series usually.

I'm just kidding.

Though legitimately, TTGL fits exactly what you're looking for. Its whole point is to be silly and stupid and grow in scale.  And I love its music.

...Its also my favorite show and I've watched it 5 or 6 times and own the DVDs for it. I'd own the blurays too but paying $300 for anime is a bit beyond me.

I don't have any doubt it'll be good. If it's better than Kill la Kill (which dropped off for me halfway through and had a poor ending), then there's no reason for me to believe I wouldn't like it. It won't top my favorites though, that's pretty much guaranteed. :y

I should also try HearthStone. I hear for the most part it's fair in terms of pricing. And it's online so that's always nice.

Great thing about Hearthstone is that it's fully playable without needing to buy anything at all.

Plus it works really well both casually and competitively.

I feel alive, ladies and gentlemen

So, I've been running 5km a day along my local streets for what must be more or less exactly a year now. And recently, pun intended, I've been making great strides

I just finished in 18 minutes 58 seconds

I hope this means sporty people will like me at university

I can usually finish in about four minutes if I'm in a hurry.

I was watching an Italian cooking show. Everybody was attractive, especially the women. I wasn't even paying attention to the food... there were other things I'd rather eat. :V

Sorry, I'm feeling stupider than usual today.

Chiming in, since a bud linked me this thread.

The Discord groups are an absolute cesspit. Which is pretty reflective of the forum itself.

In the primary Discord group you've got  edgy /b/ rejects intermingling and trying their absolute hardest to be edge-lords. Then in the 'totally-selective-'true-phoenixed-users' group (which I deeply apologize for creating), you've got toxic, smug, gossipers circle-jerking.

Pretty sure there's also a third, or even fourth one out there somewhere. The fact that this community is so fragmented shows how much of a disaster it is, really.

The constant bitching, the smugness, schoolyard-esque talking behind other's backs and hive-mind attitude of Phoenixed would be enough to drive anybody insane. Let's not even get into the disgustingly intolerant and overly hostile views that some members share here, and the constant like-whoring that goes on in every single thread. It's a pit of negativity, and I was unfortunate to find myself dragged in with it.

With all that said - I'll always consider Phoenixed to have been a waste of my effort and time. I sincerely regret ever providing for this community in the first place, and staying for as long as I did.

@Eggdodger @6tails @Amiir @Lucyfish @Mentova - You guys are a-okay. Thanks for being some of the few positives that came from me joining this community.

Okay, we good now. There's my proper, overdue 'goodbye' to this community.

Sidenote: I sure did love returning to the group after a two month long 'break' only to be tossed to the side and trodden on by certain members. (Shoutout to @Liovaire for being a massive jerk.) Also, holy shit staff, fix the logo's background color conflict with the layout already. Its been like six months

I can't say I have much memory of you, but goodbye nonetheless. I recall some posts of yours that seemed pretty good.

Goodbye Azurex.

You always leave and then come back just to whine and moan about how much you hate us. You'll be back within a few months.

I haven't been keeping up with the forums recently, but I've been wondering where you went. You were pretty cool in my book. If you are really going, I wish you well in whatever other endeavors you embark on.

There is a lot of negativity in these forums, and definitely in the chats, but I just do my best to ignore it all and focus on the positives in everyone here. Might be naive, but it works for me, and I can say I've gained a lot by being part of this community.

I don't really get the point of checking a community you're already mentally "over and done with", and have taken a position of moral superiority over, like stalking an ex's Facebook page to make snippy comments about her new boyfriend.

You either leave, or you stay.
You're either above it, or you're not.
Coming back to complain about it, to expect people to care, is still expressing emotional attachment. Otherwise, it would not be worth your time to even look.

Realizing that you don't work out with people is fine. That's natural. That happens.

But going on their page just to throw out "Oh my god, I can't believe you work at Target now! What garbage. Hahaha. I can't believe I ever went out with you. Claire worked at a bank and she had way bigger tits!" is kind of silly, imo.

I have no idea what the hell is going on. Hi, Azurex! Bye Azurex!

I see foxes. I am pleased by this. I am considering adding a few of my own, but would prefer to drop them in the eye-bleach thread @george99g care to see me live up to that promise? :3

ScrollFoxRefs3.gif

I don't know that I can contribute anything meaningful that will help sooth the fractures involved in this current dispute, but at least I can provide foxes to those who wish for distraction from them.

Sometime last year, I had to ditch this place for a bit. A lot of things happened to me including a financially/mentally crippling car accident myself, the loss of a friend due to vehicular manslaughter, and the murder of another in senseless gang related violence on top of the other issues I still face that I'm not going to boast about. I come across as jovial, but things are not even close to fine with my life. All of it put me in a seriously vulnerable state and I had to cut the fat for a bit in a lot of areas while I regained composure. Phoenix was one such area.

I started talking to Zara and Lemon a bit about the nature of the place and how...serious people took it. Zara especially really gave me some more perspective. I had a hard time being myself around here because everything was so political and being a goof and lighthearted was openly looked down upon. It got needlessly intense around here for my taste.

I tend to take the SirRob approach to this place now. I have my opinions and in rare occasions like the last two days here, yeah I get direct with people. But for the most part I stopped arguing so vehemently with strangers online. I stopped pretending to be perfect. I stopped throwing my weight around lording over people like I had some meaningful standing or prestigious credentials in any glamorous field. And for god's sake, the grudges had to go. Basically, I dropped the ego. It's worthless. And trying to maintain it, in an environment that at the time made me feel forced to maintain it, only made me feel worse in one of the darkest spots of my life.

For a time I had just lurked if I ever decided to log on and then I stuck exclusively to the gaming section before I felt more comfortable branching back out. I enjoy my time here more now. I don't focus on the 2-3 people that occasionally make a stink for me. And as long as I'm not giving people any guff I figured things will be cool.

Things are pretty easy here now.
