The world's dumbest and overall most pointless palindrome...

Nevermind, I forgot about my favorite palindrome "Eva, can I stack Rod's sad-ass, dork cats in a cave?"

It's like poetry.

I like that it even includes the apostrophe as a comma and vice versa.

23 jobs denied in a heartbeat. If you aren't twenty-three with 10+ years of experience no one wants you, not even McDonald's.

:C aye, its sad and Im grateful Ive actually been able to obtain jobs in the past, knowing how hard it is and how much competition there is to be hired. Shiz is scary. Im lucky I started early, and heck I didnt even start early. There are kids who got jobs at 16, I got mine at 19.

In fact I shouldnt have this one. Im like 103% sure the hiring manager at the time hired me because I was able to identify a sticky note drawing of Solid Snake from MGS on the wall and a whiteboard drawing of Ryuk from Deathnote. Which...in other words, means Id get along with my stupidly nerdy coworkers well, right?

Sadly, Im kind of a social reject and as much as this is probably the best job Ive had coworker-wise and I admire and respect everyone, I havent fulfilled my purpose I was hired for (hiding the fact that Im incompetant socially and havent held very many solid conversations with much of anyone)

Ahem, well tl;dr, I guess the easiest way to get hired is to keep applying anywhere and everywhere, and find one with a loophole to ease into that will fit you as a person. My first was because it was my passion, same for second, third because they were desperate and I have experience, and fourth because I had experience and I was able to pick up on the kind of environment my coworkers had. You never get a job until you somehow find a way to make it personal or to meld with the hiring staff

I believe they call those type sheltered manchildren with no social lives outside of the net. Better off to just ignore them.

Mine's AQA, and we are denied study leave at my college. We need to attend lessons until we complete all exams in that subject.

Also, luckily for me I only have 3 exams this year and one of them is already finished. Best of luck to you!

It doesn't compile, but the gist is there.  The throw() prototype declares more parameters than its call passes (letting slide they're undefined), false is undeclared, the slashes in the printf() call should be backslashes, and i, infinite, and something are undeclared.  Not too bad for C knowledge that rusty.

You didn't try to compile that did you? :P

McDonald's is fairly easy to get a job at from my experience, and they have new people working there pretty much every week since people quit and get fired all the time. If you didn't get a job one time, try applying again in like a week or so.

I'm sorry you're having such a rough time finding a job though; job-hunting is hard and very competitive.

Oh sweet fucking...

A friend posts an article about the cringe that is puppy play. I mean yea, puppy play and pony play and other leather/latex shit is weird, but it's just people's fetishes and most keep it to themselves. So I'm reading it... hmm, whining about gay marriage being a slippery slope. Complaining about trans people. Liberals as a dirty word.

So it's a guy named Steven Crowder. Creds include Fox News, Breitbart, The Blaze... ah okay, so he's a typical mainstream conservative religious type, the type I loathe with a passion and wish would go die in a vat of acid or something (although that's how we got the Joker so...)

Conservatives assume most trans people are the ones you see who are barely passing. Or men who are crossdressing. They don't even realize that there are trans people who are so passable you can't tell they were the other gender whatsoever. (And crossdressers and drag queens often do such a good job at passing as female themselves as well). They equate it to perversion because the bible links gayness and transgender to sexual perversion. And transmen don't exist at all.

Oh my god... I'm watching this video by this guy of an interview with a "cured" Transgender.... I don't know why this guy was "cured" but from what I've heard I think he became born again.

Same with "cured" gay people. In other words they werent all that gay to begin with. They say its gay/transness is caused by childhood trauma such as sex or lack of parental figure so you fix it because these people are psychologically damaged.

This isnt always the case and is ridiculously stupid.

For one, plenty of gay/trans people lived fairly average not traumatized lives

For two, plenty of people suffer these sorts of trauma and dont catch teh gey

Just because a few people felt one way and got "cured" doesnt mean its a catchall for the entire group to be just a bunch of basket cases that need to be fixed to normal. Its pretty much all scare/fear tactics

WOW, OKAY

I could see someone relating conservative mentality to religion and therefore negativity toward this kind of stuff.

How to you leap that much logic to assume liberals are any better identifying transgender people and ignoring stereotypes?

I'm not relating it to religion. THEY bring up religion when talking about lgbt people in a negative way.

What do you mean, identifying, anyway? Some trans people are hard to identify as trans... many of the trans people I know I didn't know for certain until the told me. There was no way to tell they were trans. Other trans people, if that's what they are, aren't quite as transitioned (although those might just be manly women or effeminate men). Others (like Pastry, sorry for using you as an example) haven't transitioned at all and still look like their birth gender, and in their case you would not know they felt different unless they told you. So MOST trans I have met you would not know unless they told you, either way (pre or post transition). Some, if they are trans and not just cross dressers or manly women/girly boys, it's a little easier to "tell", but assuming is bad. Don't assume unless they told you otherwise. And what stereotypes, exactly?

You totally skipped the main subject in the sentence which was "conservatives." I was asking why liberals would be better at identifying them.

I don't think I fully understand why you're asking this. I don't think either conservatives or liberals would be better at identifying a trans person, whether it's someone who is fully and completely transitioned, partially, or not at all.

I was referring to this. ^

So you're assuming that because I said that, I'm saying that conservatives have a harder time identifying trans people than liberals? I think you misunderstood me.

Every time I listen to conservative pundits whine about trans people in bathrooms and such, I always hear the same things. "Men wearing wigs." "A man who has a dress on." "Someone who feels like they're a woman at any given moment." And also stuff like perverts, pedophiles, sexual deviants, ect. So, the assumption I seem to get from them is they think of all trans people as guys who happen to be wearing wigs and dresses and not "presenting" as female as well. That is pretty much the gist of what I hear them describe trans people as. A trans woman "man" that's presenting so badly that if she were to walk in the woman's bathroom, women would know they were born male and feel unsafe. They seem to not acknowledge the existence of trans women who present well enough to walk into the women's bathroom and no one would be the wiser, which is a large percentage of the trans community (and trans men never seem to ever be brought up). It's just "a man who puts on a wig and dress like they're a bad cross dresser and go into the women's bathroom." Never are fully transitioned trans people mentioned.

I think the reason they do that is because those fully trans people are not noticeable. Most of these idiots don't seem to know real trans people, or they do but have no idea they're trans. Same thing with gays. I've noticed that conservative pundits do the same thing with gay people. They assume that all gays are the effeminate, lisp talking gays. They assume that all lesbians are the short haired fat butch dyke kind. And there's a reason for that. Those effeminate gays, those butch lesbians, those barely passing trans men, are the ONLY people who are obviously gay, lesbian, and trans. They're easy to identify as such due to stereotypes. All the rest of the gays, the lesbians, the bis, the trans people look like normal people thus are hard to identify unless they are out. And without a good reference to what a typical LGBT person is, they go by the most obvious and stereotypical lgbt person. The fembois. The butch lesbians. The not very passable trans people. The ones that are easy to spot, and easy to ridicule. If they knew that there were trans people who transitioned fully that no one realized were trans, they wouldn't act as if the only trans people who are using the bathrooms are "men with wigs and dresses." Nor would they be testing the bathroom policies of Target and other places by just putting on a wig and dress and padded boobs and doing such a shitty job of drag that Ru Paul is cringing.

Also, this convo should have been in the bathroom thread, and the mods can move it if it's okay with Ricky.

I currently have the chance to speak with my biological father, whom of which abandoned me and my biological mother 20 years ago. Would it be a good idea to try and contact this person? Or should I just let it go? I realize asking a bunch of furries a question like this is kind of silly, but I just wanted people's opinions as I'm not sure how to look at this and even my own immediate family is unsure as to what I should do. The thing is, is that I have no personal attachments to this person. But I care about other people and how they feel, and I can't help but wonder if he has some regrets or has any interest in speaking with me, and realizing that any form of contact after all this time would be awkward, I could understand why such a person, even if they felt that way, wouldn't bother to try and contact me. I figured trying to reach out to my biological father would be giving him the chance to act on any regrets/possible desires to speak with me, if such exists. But on the other hand, if he's never tried to speak with me after all this time, does he really want to have a relationship with me? If he doesn't, I wouldn't want to bother him.

Its something that's been on my mind, and I was looking to get some advice.
