Crazy Lee
Well this place got nihilistic real quick. Ditto on things I liked not quite interesting me as much as they did before. 18 hours ago, Battlechili said: You should avoid buying games unless you know for sure you're going to play and enjoy them. Only buy stuff you badly want, even if its on sale. When I first got my steam account, I was like "Ooo this looks nice, this looks nice, this looks cool, let's get this as well." Now, I only buy stuff if I know I'll really be interested in it. That being said, there are games on the account I want to play just have yet to play. And, I think the max I've spent was about $30 one time, and every other steam sale I don't spend more than $20-25, and sometimes even less. Like this time it was a little over $10, and then back during the Star Wars sale it was about $7 for a bunch of old 90s games (the Dark Forces/Jedi Knight series, the Starfighter series) 15 hours ago, Kosha said: At first glance I thought @Sidewalk Surfboard's avatar was of Roger Waters. Guest
I have my last finals test tomorrow, then I'll be done with high school for good. These have, so far, been the worst years of my life. I'm very nervous, due to me being mostly unprepared and for having only a very vague idea of what's it gonna be like since none of our very competent and absolutely professional teachers bothered to fill us in on the details proper. Is it just me being overly demanding for daring to ask for simple instructions? Five years in this pisshole and I don't feel like I've learned anything worthwhile, five years wasted. Soon school will be over and I don't feel prepared in the slightest to face what's to come, the work life and eveything, it failed to give me a direction. Wasn't that what school was for?? None of the things we did were ever exciting or inspirational. On the contrary, I've felt only anger and frustration to be here. Everyday's been an empty routine: wake up early, go to an old ugly school, have unmotivated, bored, boring and/or unprofessional teachers do their thing, see the dickfaces of the classmates you hate, long for that bell to ring. No heart, no emotion, no passion in anything. It was all so fucking uninspired. ''Apathy'' is how I'd describe these years in a single word, and anger. Just... Just zero, niks, nada, nulla. ''Best years of your life'' my ass. How bad is it when something you do makes you wish for time, something so limited and precious, to pass as quickly as possible? To top it all off I have to do these shitty finals too now and for what? Seriously what the hell is their purpose? To prove I studied, that I did my job? That's what report cards are for but nah, let's do this superfluous, useless fucking test, because we love our students so much that we just don't want to let them go. I'll be honest, I didn't study these last couple of weeks for this final test, I am mostly unprepared. I just fucking hate school so much that I can't be bothered with it any longer. But that doesn't matter: the minimum score required to gain the diploma is 60/100 and so far I have 54 points. From this last test one can gain up to 30 points, so I only need 6. An easy feat, even with a preparation as poor as mine inb4 post of some lecturing know-it-all coming to patronize me on how great school is or how my opinion doesn't matter because I'm still an adolescent or how my problems are irrelevant just because someone else has it worse. To the patronizers, piss off. You're not me, you're not my daddy, you haven't been where I've been, you have no idea what it's been like I should end this emotional rant right here and go study now. In case you didn't notice, talking about this subject makes me furious. I'm just... Extremely disappointed and frustrated and embittered from this experience. Please understand where I'm coming from, not that understanding is something that can be requested, but you get what I mean. Lol these lyrics from ''Breaking The Law'' describe my feelings perfectly: So much for the golden future, I can't even start I've had every promise broken, there's anger in my heart! Let's get this crap over and done with once and for all. I'll inform you tomorrow of how it went, if it went well Edit: I might make this a thread of its own... DrGravitas
The last echoes of the big bad development task have ended. I cleaned up some of the 3rd party's manually constructed values that didn't meet the specs set forth. I've scheduled the jobs to execute automatically as according to plan. I provided details on things that can be done should certain types of issues occur, just in case the 3rd party pulls the rug out from under us. The date to run was pushed back to the 10th because the business team works in mysterious ways. So, I'll be on the plane as this thing runs for the first time in the live environment.
