You ever notice how furries always somehow end up dating only, and exclusively other furries? What's the deal with that?

I mean, when I hear a furry say "I have a boyfriend," I just wait  for them to continue on with "and he's a wolf! ^_^", because this is true more in more than ninety percent (90%) of all instances.

Is there something unique furries share that other nerds don't? Or are furries so insular that they don't associate outside the fandom? I have never heard of this from any other group of people, ever.

It's actually not that hard to look past as long as you're not gross. Like to me it's just some dorky thing like star wars or comics. No big deal if you're not a dog fucker.

I've never actually dated a furry, but I think it would be fun to have someone with the same interest. I had an ex who wasn't a furry, but she entertained me and made a fursona so we could get art of our chars together. I think furries just naturally gravitate to those with similar interest, like normal people.

Lots of people have had weird uncomfortable feelings about kids cartoons at some point. Everyone has shameful fetishes so it's whatever to me, just so long as I keep it a deep dark secret so no one will ever know outside a "privileged" few. Doesn't stop me from being self-conscious about certain things sorta related to them but whatever.

Yeah, I think it comes down to the convenience of dating within their social group, and the avoidance of people who may judge them harshly for being furries. But hey, I don't really know a lot of furries irl, and I'd guess it the reasons vary like most things. I don't really believe people who are otherwise repulsive claiming to be in a relationship over the internet, so there is also that.

My partner is a normal human being with no connection, other than me, to this Fandom. 

I have indeed noticed the Furry on Furry dating though. It's also something of interest on how short a majority of these relationships last.

It's quite simple, really. Since furfaggotry is considered a closet hobby/fetish, it's a lot easier to associate with, and date like minded people to avoid the awkward conversation and potential repercussions of "coming out."

I think the field of profession she is studying will end up being beneficial fandom wise, too.

And, dancing doesn't seem to be a huge thing here. I helped the DJ setup for a dance party one night and almost everyone was in the other room playing "Cards Against Humanity" or watching Anthro movies. Lol!

Unlike most funbases furries have the cute relationshippy thingy where you can get art together of some persona-ified version of themselves. I see way too many people with art feauturing each other together in some respect. Maybe some weirdos actively seek out only-furs but birds of a feather, y'know. If you have friend circles in the same community and like the same things it's bound to happen

Gotta disagree there, Ive seen plenty of straight couples with the females of said relationship not have some jealousy complex, and by definition...well, a lot of people share interests in general. Its not like all couples follow some weird archetype where the dudes watch sports, play videogames, and watch porn and the female gets all grumpy because of his interests

It's actually quite funny, but a lot of the babyfurs tend to have almost exclusive relationships inside the babyfur click (which knowing babyfurs leads to hilarious drama). Most of the time it has to do with the fact that people are rightfully not okay with that whole idea or concept. I generally think that the furry fandom works kind of the same way with obviously more leeway involved. If someone really likes the thought of anthropomorphic animals you'd assume that their significant other would also have to be okay with it or there would be little to no connection; which is why we see it more often than not
