To be fair, homophobia in his time period was the norm.

I was looking for a reason to agree with Rassah and be polite rather than argue that he missed the point of my post.

Orwell's homophobia may actually just be an extension of his distaste for certain types of less-radical socialist, but that doesn't make it permissible. It does make it interesting that he disliked any person more radical or less radical than he. It also makes a good example of the subjectivity of 'radicalism.'

I love the students at my job.

At my work at the hospital we have interns that are also going to school at the same time. They're not licensed and their medical knowledge base is fairly shallow so we can't have them do anything particularly useful other than supervise patients and run errands. As a result the bored staff of the hospital enjoy fucking with them by sending them on impossible errands.

The other day my unit decided to send our student on one such errand by telling him, "We're all out of Fallopian tubes. We need you to bring back 10 of them for us. Go ask the other units if you can borrow some." The poor fool ended up going to every other unit in the hospital only to get replies along the line of, "We don't have any. Sorry. Try the next unit down." Or "We have 4 on the unit, but they're currently being used. We can't spare them. Try another unit."

He finally came back to us about an hour later sheepishly admitting that he couldn't find any to spare in the entire hospital and he hopes that the procedure we needed them for wasn't too urgent. We all had a good laugh at that, told him what they were, and then bought him lunch.

US Netflix. You US lads don't realise how lucky you have it - there's so much more choice.

It's getting less and less that way though.

All the best movies keep disappearing, and the new additions are ones I've either already seen or are b-grade shit.

And they keep taking more and more of our money to give us Fuller House instead of things we'd like to watch.

If it weren't the best option out there for my tastes, I'd cancel my account.

I have read about how there's a lot of content being taken off Netflix. I hope that they get a lot of it back, but it seems unlikely. It's the same in the UK, but the US Netflix is still infinitely superior in terms of pure choice of content.

Was at work yesterday and I put on my fave metal jams super loud from loudspeakers, grabbed a gun and had the greatest gun-guitar gig ever presented to no-one ever. I shit you not it was super goddamn fun for as long as it lasted until actual work beckoned. Felt the power of music right there.

I have some air guitar skills mates. Contact my agent for booking me to your gigs.

Going to animal shelters and getting happy-glomps from the dogs after I walk them :3

Why is it called glomping anyway? I remember when I first heard that word, it sounded very... moist. Definitely didn't make me think of hugs.

I have no idea. Maybe cuz it involves kind of bodily flopping on top of another thing/person. Or maybe the original word comes from some manga that nobody remembers where a slime monster or something falls on top of someone and sticks. Dunno!
