I would likely travel the day before, then give the presentation and travel back the next day, though it's negotiable. I could travel back the next day and only have to be in the office half-a-day, for example. And, of course, travel expenses will be reimbursed, eventually. I've been hovering around the fandom for about 17 years now, and possibly know less about it than either of you. Although I'm aware of the "official" 1970s-80s history, and can rattle off a few big names, I also know that anthropomorphic animals predate us all by at least tens of thousands of years. If I were to guess, I'd say furries have been around as long as humans. So yeah, I don't care about being out of the loop either.
