I picked up US dollars today. Got my grubby paws on your currency.

They can't lurk the porn threads without having a minimum of 69 posts and staff approval.

lol is the 69 post minimum actually a thing?

I mean I know about thr staff approval but the blackhole is still fair game

Can't view because of the UK's porn filter. :\

UK, stop being such an US/conservative!

59 minutes ago, Saxon said:

Thanks.

The filters are also completely ineffective. If I google 'shitty anal fisting' I'm still going to find a whole bunch of incredibly graphic pornography.

All the filters do is prevent me from using websites like Tumblr or Urban dictionary, because those are classified as 'porn sites'. :\

Do the filters know about "mononatriumglutamate"?

Ouch, this is hard to believe, of a western nation.  There's no way to turn it off? Damn, I always knew the UK had some weird censorship laws, but that's just crazy. Doesn't the public ever rise up against such outmoded restrictions, en masse? I mean, even here, in a place founded by Puritans and still plagued by things as ugly as Republicans and the religious right, we have the right to view such things. (at least so far)

It's weird...the UK seems more ahead of the times in many ways, and yet, about sex, both more prudish on one hand, and more kinky on the other. It confuses me!

Can you get the Queen to issue a proclamation? :V

You can turn it off, but the owner of the household I'm currently in has not opted to deactivate it.

The way it works is that, when you buy an internet connection, the connection automatically blocks content related to sex, drugs, gambling, dating and alcohol unless you decide you want the filter disabled.

You should be using an out of country VPN like everyone else in the UK.

Good God, what's left?!

Hopefully you'll find a more urbane housemate soon, this one sounds rather prudish! Can you just pretend to be him/her, and opt in?

I was out back last night messing with Dammit and Stoppit and @Proper noun 's brother decided to pay a visit -- and he was an asshole. I think it was a White Lined Sphinx Moth -- didn't get a picture though.

I'm not normally bothered by insects, and especially not moths, but one that's big enough to momentarily be mistaken for a hummingbird and that insists on dive-bombing your head can be rather intimidating...

My emotions are broken right now.

Everyone discovered I was a furry and instead of hearing other students say "dog fucker!" I heard "That's actually kinda cool."

Somehow everyone went from furry hater to just accepting it. Maybe since most students liked me it suddenly gave a good impression. I should be happy and I am but I'm still panicking inside and I don't know why. I feel like laughing and crying at the same time since everything went ok.

It just feels wrong to not get hate.

Ughh i have issues

Well, it sounds like this is good and you don't have to worry about hiding your 'secret' as if it is dark and undesirable.

I've panicked so much last night it followed me today even after it should have stopped.

Maybe I'm going insane :/

Hopefully I didn't hit my head enough times to do so.

I'll probably go and test myself soon

Sorry, that was Chris, he gets really into his costumes. He just wanted to show you all his hard-work!

I mean the most I ever get is when someone notices my phone background or something and they're like

"Are you a furry?"

"Yea."

"Oh, nice picture."

There was that one guy who kept asking questions about porn, but usually people are really chill.

Furry hate is, most of the time, exaggerated.

Most of the time.

And I can't get the two posts to merge or edit this into the other so ITS A DOUBLE POST. DON'T JUDGE ME. :(

The bar is already on the floor. Don't worry.

Those were completely separate unrelated conversations.

That looked like it really fit in with the topic though didn't it?

That's kinda funny actually:D

if it's any consolation i don't think like:post ratio has any relationship with quality of posting. Probably half my likes are from my posting triumvirate days when JC, Rev, and I liked each others posts to prove exactly this point.

Ratios are trash.

Why is it that when people find I'm a furry I get awkward questions about which manimals I find sexy and whatnot?

The best and most useful code I ever wrote for this company is a framework for the construction of Excel report generation/sending code. ¡-¡

EDIT: Wait! I forgot about a super-complicated batch job that solved a 5 year old problem they had and has worked perfectly when I put it in and continously for the past 3 years! That may not be as helpful to me or to the team, but it is the far greater personal coding achievement on this project!

I am rather lost as to what transistors to use on this H-bridge motor driving thing I have to make for my course project, all I know at this point for certain is I am running everything from 12 volts DC and how I am going to automatically reverse the motor by controlling the H-bridge with more transistors, a flip-flop and a 555 timer IC.

So far I am going with FETs if that helps, though from what I heard these are delicate and get hot quick.

Any advice would be helpful

Might need to include current requirements for your project.

Never built one using FETs, but this is a pretty standard general purpose MOSFET.

I'll try building the circuit I am planning with this one in mind in some decent simulator (iCircuit won't cut it this time) first then come back here if everything checks out.

At least there is one other person besides me who knows electronics.

Now all I have to do is figure what motor to use and what gears I will need to get the rotating bit of the whole thing moving at a decent rate. (It's a electric brush if anyone is wondering)

I am sorry I can't give much else to go on as it has only just been planned in the past week
