Public Nudity

I ain't no nudist, but I have been thinking about this lately.

How has nudity become so offensive in society? Worse yet, how has it become illegal? It's our natural state, so I find it strange to not allow people that freedom. I don't think it's going to destroy the minds of children if they're not raised to view it as bad and shameful.

I'm curious what other people think about it.

Children will point and ask about anything. If nudity was commonplace, you'd get children asking men about their willies. And that would be creepy

Let's not have children talking to men about their willies

I agree

we need children to fear their bodies

Remove sex education from schools!

Children do not need to learn about those things!! ever!!!

In fantasy yes, I'd like that.

A world where everybody is naked and casual sex is like giving someone a handshake.

Me: I'm Home!

*Founds mom and bara dad fucking in them living room*

Mom: Oh honey... welcome home! Dinner is not ready yet! Let me finish up your dad first.

*Sits beside dad and watches porn on channel 5*

Dad: So.. how school son?

Me: Uhhh... I got B+ on my Anal studies.

Mom: That's great son! You'll a grew prostitute like your dad one day!

It has little to do with how it's our natural state.

It's offensive, gross and bad because this is the way we socially evolved over the centuries. There were times when people hid their bodies under clothing even more (renesance), there were times where they hid it less (greeks). This is how our views about the world and ourselves changed over time.

And it's not something that will change any time soon.

I'm definitely glad that public nudity is not allowed since I'm about to cram myself onto a greyhound bus for eight hours with all kinds of colorful individuals. I think it's silly that male nipples are fine but female nipples are obscene though.

Also, nudity can be an awesome bonding experience, even among friends. A lot of my high school buddies are the hippie-dippie raver and festival attendee type crowd, and some of the funnest times have been when we all decided to go skinny dipping :P

Remove ALL of the clothes. My eyes might have to endure some fat/old/plain fugly people but look at the brighter side, we would never have to strip hot people with our immagination ever again. That hot chick you see on the subway? She won't have anything to hide her pretty body with C:

But as Gravitas mentioned, if nudity were normal it would be just that: normal and unexciting. I don't know what I'd choose in the end. The fact that public nudity is prohibited makes it indeed kinda tantalizing...

Public nudity is over-rated. I enjoy being warm, I enjoy fashion, and I enjoy that sharing my naked body with some one is a special moment, that it's erotic and exciting. I dont want any of that taken away from me for the fantasies of a select few who just wana see people naked all the time. That's what the internet is for.

Aye well if theres something Igotta agree with its definitely that people dislike nudity to the point of shaming it...which is weird it IS a natural state, there isnt anything particularly weird about naked people except for the fact that we cover ourselves for many a good other reason.

I just dont understand the extreme derision of natural processes and things, what are we being so hush hush about things like sex for? Its nothing older kids shouldnt learn or at some point, its a natural biological process.

I think we should be more open and proud of our bodies but that doesn't mean go around naked, although that might make summer easier to deal with. I also imagine it'd make disease easier to spread.

And as Doc said it'd make it boring and mundane.

If people are gonna mentally undress me, I'm glad that they can imagine I've got a good body. I'd hate to go around everywhere with my saggy boobs swinging around like a grandfather clock.

Don't forget to hide those saggy arms and saggy chin when you're an old lady. :v

Having lived in Europe, been to nude beaches and seen pretty much every member of my family naked at some point I can say that repeated exposure to casual nudity will desensitize you to every mole, wart, wrinkle or fat fold. It also does a lot to desexualize nudity, at least it did for me. Once you quit automatically associating naked with sex it really stops mattering if someone's ass or tits are hanging out.

Honestly I think if people were more relaxed about casual nudity we'd be more accepting of less than perfect bodies and it might even make some people feel better about their moles, freckles and pudge.

Just take a shit right in front of people. Who even cares.
Take your tampon out in the middle of the family picnic.
Sounds like a good ol time.

Personally, while it's a silly requirement, I actually prefer people wearing clothes.
It's more hygienic, and less boring.
You can look at some dude's saggy tits for the upteenth time, or you can look at the colors and patterns and materials of the shirt he's wearing. I'll take the shirt.

The more you see the undesirable traits of a human body the less you care.

I think you misread my intention, Im not aking an argument for nudity being better, but not a big deal. The actions of releasing waste are also normal, that's just biology, thats just the way our bodies work. Isnt sex just gross when you stop and think about what it is anyways?

Im most certainly not making an argument for "Hey lets everyone go naked, defecate in public, and bleed in social functions", People just seem more appalled by it at times, its one thing to be discrete about drives or body function, its another to shun it. Sex is obvious, but as for menstrual cycles an example I can think of for cultural shunning is why women in ye olden times (and still in some cultures) were considered unclean and were/are banished from society for a week, they were considered lesser people because of their biological status somehow...

Oh, yeah - I'd kind of hate it if being naked was the normal thing too.
Clothing can be so unique, stand-out, and generally awesome! A lot of people even dedicate their lives to designing such wonderful fashions, as clothes are just that neato ~
