Kosha
Alright, every furry has that one movie/show/game that they say kicked off their interest in anthropomorphism, what was/were your's? Power Rangers - Okay, I know that's a weird one so I'll explain it. In one of the episodes I had on VHS, the villain of the week was some sort of Anthropomorphic Cobra. I thought this villain was pretty cool. I'd keep drawing anthro cobras as a kid because of it. Sword in the Stone - I still get teary eyed when Arthur leaves the squirrel girl. Crash Bandicoot - Crash is still my favorite video game character.
DrDingo
Honestly, I think it was Flipnote Hatena on the DSi. That place was crammed with furry trash content. Then I searched for more of it. RIP me
Summercat
Er. Nothing specifically? I mean, I'd always been interested in that sort of thing, and if not being dragged in by a friend of mine in highschool I would have found Furry through TF stuff. Victor-933
I have a sneaking suspicion that Action Forms, the development studio, are closet furries. Not only does Chasm have the Joker seen above as well as a big, buff, mace-wielding lion man, but they later went on to make Vivisector: Beast Within. Endless/Nameless
I didn't really know about the whole "furry" thing till I was older and I found the dA fanart communities. As a kid, I always liked animals to some extent; and I did like talking-animal movies like Balto, Aristocats, The Great Mouse Detective, etc. But the one major thing in my childhood that I usually point to is The Secret of NIMH: It made me feel funny. 1 hour ago, Kosha said: Sword in the Stone - I still get teary eyed when Arthur leaves the squirrel girl. IKR??!??!?!!!?!? Ungrateful brat. EDIT: As a sidenote, I quite enjoy my furry side. :3 Edited April 29, 2016 by Endless/Nameless
SkyboundTerror
I blame werewolves for being the gateway (I don't remember why I was so fascinated with them), and I blame Google and its unforgiving search engine for leading me to Arania. Then I remembered I've always liked reptiles and upgraded to scalieism. I'm not a furry.... you're a furry. Shut up.
Mapa
Honestly, nothing in particular. I was never more interested in animals then anyone else, and cartoons with animals were just like any other cartoons to me. I just decided one day to look into what this furry thing was all about, and I was like "holy shit animal people." Not really sure what changed my mindset, but since then I appreciate animals a bit more.
WileyWarWeasel
Lets just say I've always been a bit different, though what drew my attention to furry stuff in particular was Dust: An Elysian Tale. Half-Note
I was lonely and needed furiends. On a more serious note, found it to be fascinating and kind of cool to dress up and have fun, not caring what on-lookers think. Sure, some furries complain that the furless degenerates just "don't understand", but disregarding them, I think it's fun.

Sidewalk Surfboard
I've always kinda had a thing for cartoon animals. For example, when I was 7, I had a big crush on Simon from Alvin and the Chipmunks. Getting into the RAE and having a legit crush on Rolfe DeWolfe made me realize that I was indeed a furry. PastryOfApathy
Crippling loneliness (a furfag being a loser with no friends, omg no way). I was virtually asexual for like the first 17 years of my life so I don't have any horrible stories about jerking it to The Secret of Nimh or something. Sorry to disappoint you gross weirdos. That stuff came after in 4chan threads.
Alexxx-Returns
When I got Starfox Aventures I know that Krystal turned me on a lot. I think I'm de-sensitised to her now though. Earlier than that though was probably Digimon. I had a massive thing for Flamedramon as a kid. But nowadays he's like... eh... and it was searching Google images to "accidentally" come across porn of Beelzemon that led to my finding the fandom in the first place, so Digimon definitely has a big part in it. And Rayman, DEFINITELY. I had a massive thing for him too. Still have a less massive thing for him now.

Kinharia
Why I am a Furfag? As a child in school we would read books with anthro characters Spyro the Dragon (technically a scaley :v) Ratchet and Clank (Ratchet is hawt) Sonic the Hedgehog Disney. STOP MAKING HOT ANTHROS! (you have created a whole new generation of furries with Zootopia) World of Warcraft, gotta love dem Worgen, Pandaren and Tauren Pokemon
FlynnCoyote
Bluth and Disney mostly, and I guess Warner Brothers cartoons played a part as well. Specifically the earliest memories I have of this particular interest are the Secret of Nimh, Oliver, American Tail and The Rescuers. Additionally I was a fan of the saturday morning cartoons featuring Wile.E.Coyote and Foghorn Leghorn mostly but I enjoyed most of what WB put out. I didn't really see it as an attraction to furry back then, but I do think my budding vore interest got a hell of a workout on those cartoons well before I ever understood it. The more commonly known furry movies like Robin Hood, The Great Mouse Detective and I guess Ferngully were ones I completely missed as a child and actually had to track down as an adult to understand the references and relevance to the wider fandom. As a result I was pretty underwhelmed by Robin Hood and I think it sucks.

Conker
At this point I should probably just admit that I'm at least half a furfag and that's why I hang around here. What a shitty way to start the morning. Well that and hangovers. Uh. I'd say a mix of old-school Disney, Brian Jacques, and World of Warcraft, the latter being the big one. Rolled a tauren druid and shapeshifting was fun. Guild started calling me a furfag for rolling that class, and I googled and here I am.
