I can kinda-sorta play Cliffs of Dover on the saxophone. I can play half of it. I learned it for a recital that had a time limit and never got around to learning the second half. Had to audition for that recital and I was picked to play which I was pretty proud of.

...I liked the post for the first and third thing, but quoted because that last part was what I was gonna say and made me wonder what I was supposed to brag about

So I guess I can brag that I can hold a pencil and make marks on paper on a more regular basis than most people do.

I will also brag that I absorb information and adapt very easily

Im a relatively independant and emotionally stable human being more than most

I have traveled quite a bit. I've worked in some very interesting places and met some very interesting people.

I caught a 4 ft rattle snake with my bear hands once. I didn't want to kill it so I moved it. It was pissed off but alive so hey its a win. That was cool.

And last but not least, I am a functional member of society with absolutely no problems talking to people. I have a wide social circle and I find it easy to make friends. I am not some socially inept retard and I know what is and is not acceptable to talk about in public. (I feel that is something to brag about on a furry forum :v)

I'm not exactly sure how close I am to being a near-perfect bilingual, but in terms of pure skills that's probably my only real achievement in life.

There are no given ages for the Rock Afire characters except Mitzi Mozzarella, who was said to have turned 17 in the New Year's 1988 showtape.

Freddie Mercury died at 45.

David Bowie died sometime in his 60s.

I achieved the rank of Eagle Scout in Boy Scouts, which would only matter if I was going to go into the military or law enforcement.

I have extensive knowledge of numerous science fiction settings and authors, which has no applicability to anything practical or useful.

So, basically, all of my accomplishments are meaningless.

A couple of weeks ago the director of a local domestic violence shelter, who I have known since I was a child, had me shipped across the state to receive the NMCADV's community hero award for volunteer work with the shelter. Honestly I'm more proud of approval from her than the other thing. 

 

And since bragging makes me feel weird I will pontificate. There are domestic violence shelpers all over the US, and in larger locations there are also sexual violence sheliters and homeless shelters. While most of them get a lot of government support they are dependant on private donations and volunteers. If nothing else, general domestic products such as cosmetics, work clothes, and new clothes for kids are appreciated.

That's a really sweet thing to do. I see a lot of homeless people here, each day on my just about 16 block walk down to the train station, on my way to work...and I wanna help, but am just scraping by, and I sometimes wonder if I might end up homeless, with the debt I have, stagnate wages, and rising costs of living. I've come close, and can definitely empathize, and sometimes, I'll give out a bit of money, even if it might go to the 'wrong' purposes. It's sad to see how much poverty exists in a country this well off, and how many live on the edge of it.

 

Oh, wait, I'm supposed to brag, too!

I can write very good poetry, though the revision process is quite long.

I've been working on my Hadean sci-fi universe in various forms for over ten years now.

Currently there is over 500KB in just plaintext notes about the universe, not counting character profiles or short stories.

I just got back from doing oceanography and geology in Bermuda. I was on the R/V Atlantic explorer for two days at sea!

I'm awful at talking on the spot, but I can shit out stories in writing form so easily that it often catches people off guard given my verbal shortcomings. 

All of my English teachers from elementary, middle, and high school would pull me aside and tell me DON'T STOP WRITING. Their faith in my writing abilities would often make me feel proud, and it's given me the drive to write and plan out multiple novels.

I also always get stuck into leadership positions because of my no-bullshit attitude and empathetic nature. I have no enemies.

I am pretty knowledgable about the human mind, and have been complimented as a somewhat talented hypnotist in my ways. Simple truth is...

It's easy, you simply find the rythym of the human mind and next thing you know everyone just starts dropping around you while you giggle like a lunatic! It's simple, it's easy and can be counted down like a nursery ryhme. It's relaxing! A simple, 3 let yourself be, 2 a little sleepy too, 1 whoops what's been done... drop.

But on a more normal note I am a synesthesiac and it's pretty great to be able to do break down the various qualities and mood of a sound into shapes, colors, ryhyms so that I can understand them better. I hope maybe to make it a musician someday as it's something I can make out of myself, whereas my other dream of being some sort of phsyician is far beyond my reach in terms of time, cost, and education. 

And... well, maybe I can still help people through music so they don't need to suffer and tear themselvs apart like I have.
